confused new person (shocked, I know)

So I just started playing, couldn't make myself avoid the gibberlings(?) cause, well, they're too stinkin cute ... but

I am having the hardest time when I finish a quest that rewards gear - is there an easier way to figure out what the better piece(s) are? Seems like I'm standing there for 5 minutes evaluating every stat that changed and it's kind of annoying me lol .... Or is that the way it's supposed to be?

(I went PSI btw, although haven't totally decided if I'm into it or not ... not sure what level is a good "yup, this is for me" point)

So if there's any easy/easier way that I should be looking at the gear changes, I'd appreciate any tips =)

Stats are not that important until lvl 75 - you change gear so much that you'll go nuts looking at different items :D

The best thing to do is really take Proficiency as the Attacking Stat and Bloodlust as the defending stat wherever possible.

It won't matter at all if you have to take other stats along the way, but for levelling these 2 are great.

I'd rank it something like:

Proficiency > Determination > Brutality in attack.

Bloodlust > Vitality > OMG dont take Willpower in defence.

1 mouseover reward item
2 check if its better than your old (more vigor) is always better; vigor > "Normal stapoints"
3 check highighted area whether there is determination or not

4 if not take it; if yes take anoter item

if you want to spend ore time you can also check if there are 2 items without deter and take the one with bloodlust as defensive stat but that takes some time, your choice

super fast way:
just take the 1st item, will still be sufficient to level
but determination will make things slower in most cases so i dont recommend this way for a new player

I'd rank it something like:

Proficiency > Determination > Brutality in attack.

differenct POV here
i would say

Proficiency > Brutality > OMG dont take Determination in attack.

:P

reason is deter wont go to 66% or even higher in normal questing PVE in 99% of happenings so its a loss
however almost every mob will g under 50% health as our new player wont 2hit the mobs i guess, so he profits frm brut :D

thank you everyone for the responses / ideas ... it's just a lot of information staring you in the face and even if you're used to MMOs (where it's typical that noob areas aren't really stat dependent) it's hard to just ignore it all and figure it out! lol

I had read earlier about Willpower and Determination being avoidable - so I'll probably take a mix of everyones advice and see how it goes lol...

I'm also someone who has a hard time making my mind up, so still trying to figure out if I like psi or not ... the hamsters are cute and all, but I'm not sure if the delay in attacks is cooldowns lag on my part lol - we shall see!

Thanks again!

the delay in attacks is called global cooldown and its a horrible thing that ruins the gamexperience since 7.0, not your fault

keep in mind you can make reincarnations later and over long play all classes this way
means if you stay psi you still can later "change" to something else
