Caster DPS Build?

Hey, So i'm a returning player from quite some time ago. 2012-2103ish. Anyways I recall a build for a caster warden that you could blast down your enemies with lightning bolts and use your pet to tank and dish out dps while you slung spells from afar. I've started back up and lvled up a little bit and noticed the talent tree has had some extensive changes made to it. I've been trying to find a build that could help me achieve the build I used to run, but it seems warden is more so a support role now. Is the pet really capable of tanking for you anymore in a PVE setting? I know it was never a huge tank... but it seems like the pet doesn't really do enough to even keep any kind of agro. Is this correct? if not could someone help me with a Caster DPS build that cares a lot about its pet? I cant really seem to navigate to anything that talks about a 8.0 builds easily. I miss the knockdown and grab focus you could do in the past. Anyways if this isn't really feasible to make a build like this anymore what does a DPS Wardens rotation look like nowadays? is caster still viable? thank you! :)

Pet's only purpose now is mana regeneration and some DOT in supp spec that applies cc if you do some action. Pet's have become pretty irrelevant in battling.
DPS caster for pve is very viable still. How many rubies would you have?
If it's for levelling then I'd suggest to go with pvp build (supp spec) but it's way more useful to any endgame content to run pve dps and heal spec than supp spec.
Hope to hear of you!
