Need help with the Lore

Some cannot be revived because they cannot use tensess' gift

a girl-npc in siveria explains that, she seems to be very sad about it cause she lost her comrades forever... but i do not understand WHY some are dead forever

can someone explain it to me?

Decapitation is one reason in the lore why some may not benefit from Tensess' gift. It doesn't restore lost body parts. There is a quest in the Wild Isles, where you have to kill orcs of the enemy goblinball team, and cut off their ears, so when they resurrect, they will resurrect without ears.

Also, everyone who servs Tep won't resurrect with Tensess Gift, 'cause their spark will be used by him for his evil-kenivel plans. :P

But you surely knew that already. ^^

As Biromir mentioned, decapitation is one of the reasons some may not revive. A spark cannot come back and re-animate a headless body.

If I remember correctly, some sparks get trapped in Tep's Pyramid, which is its original purpose. Although, Tensess had broken that evil magic, I think?

Maybe some just don't want to come back to the cruel, war-torn world.

PS: on my first time in the purgatory, I got lost. So, I wouldn't be surprised of the NPC's do too.
May Tensess have mercy on your soul, for I shall have none.

Sauran's cultists refuse revival through the gift because it goes against the natural order of the creator. Oddly cloning is ok with them though.

While you wait in purg the servents of light whisk away your body and heal the injuries but as others have said lost parts can't be regrown by them. This is why the Zem had to turn themselves into the cybernetic Arizen when Tenesses took control of the pyramid system. Time had gone by and parts of their bodies had rotted away or been scavenged by wild animals.

all answers were very competent and interesting, thanks!

so gameplay does not exactly fit the lore, because when for example a player gets killed by a warrior with fatality scroll there will happen impalement, in which parts of the victims body will get lost for sure
same goes for some of the other fatality scrolls (iron maidem from paladin, healers body-ripping angel, mages shattering comet, ...) 8|

and if a player jumps from an allod into the astral, the death would be permanent too, then (according to the lore)

so from the lore tensess' gift will only bring back those who have died due to loss of blood or concussion
... its more like the player gets unconscious (hp goes to 0), enemies only beat them down instead of killing them, and medics (servants of light) bring them back to hospitals (respawn points)

can we sum it up to that? ;)

Ha! That's the very first way any of my characters died... The first character I created in Allods was an Elf mage, and I managed to fall off the edge of Evermeet Isle. ;(
Now f2p 60 Xadaganian summy with 60/60/60 tailor/weaponsmith/alchemist, bleah gear, 555/555 runes
Now p2p 28 Xadaganian avenger with 20 weaponsmith
I'm on an extended break from Allods at the moment, but I'm lurking here to keep up with what's happening. From the looks of things in 5.0.02, I'm better off where I am.

The first time I ever fell off an allod was when the autorun feature was implemented. I clicked to autorun to a quest destination and my stupid Demonologist decided it was a good idea to run along the edge of the allod... Of course, he fell off at the turn. haha

Concerning falling off allod(s). Ever wondered how gravity works ?
Here’s one for You.

When You jump off (or fall of) edge of allod You always fall straight
down. Nothing special here right ? But lets think about it.

As we know planet Sarnaut was shattered by meteor leaving only pieces of
it floating in astral. Great mages did some awesome magic to make those pieces
of land habitable for survivors. There
are many allods scattered across astral space, many far away from each other. No
matter on which allod or where You are, when You fall off the edge You always fall
straight down. So the source of force that is pulling You down is always parallel
to the allod axis suggesting the source of that force is somewhere outside
allod You are on. And it happens on every allod no matter where You are so that
suggests that source of gravitational
force is the same for every single allod also suggesting that allods are
forming a sphere around that source of force, each allod pointing to it with
its bottom. Question here is:

Where is the source of that gravitational force ?

There is no planet core (there is no planet anymore huh) so if You fall
long enough, where will You end up ?

Shouldn’t allods also fall twards the source of that gravitational force
that is located somewhere is astral space eventually colliding witch each other
and forming new planet ?

The allods are scattered far and wide, but if you zoom out you will probably notice that all the allods are still forming a sphere/circle spanning a galaxy wide area, although with large gaps of astral in between. The gravitational pull is still in the center, in the heart of what Sarnaut used to be. I cannot image what it looks like, but it may be a star-like object? Who knows? This probably explains why whenever you fall off an allod, no matter which and where, you will always fall down(straight) to where the center used to be.

it maybe has to do with gravitation of the meteorite ore:

lets assume the bottom of every allod is meteorite ore which creates a local gravity field
once a char jumps off the allod due to the gravity field he will "fall down" but as soon as he fall past the very bottom of the allod he WOULD float in the astral, but thats the point where the game autoteleports you to purgatory since you die

There is a planet Core , it is where Sarn is jailed. It is where Eclipse (which is a ship remember) is supposed to go to free Sarn.

Imagine that allods are kind of meteorite field gravitating around the core

every body attracts everyother body with a force that is directly prop to the product of there masses and inversely proportional to square of the distance between them.
[edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%27s_…sal_gravitation]

Now we are stuck to earth because gravity pull form earth is more than that of sun (in allods reference it would be similar to allods and the central gravity puller you guys talking about)

In order to get out of earths gravity you have to jump with escape velocity. If you jump towards sun with escape velocity you will escape earths pull and eventually reach sun's pull (depending on your vel and direction you might end up in orbit or get sucked in sun).

Now when we jump off allods we fall down that means at any time the gravity pull of allod is less than the main force downward.
With this we can assume that entire allod has to fall if 1 object from allods is falling. Only explanation I can think of is something is countering this force and keeping allods hovering.

more like helicopter hovering and you jump of it.(wow i just blew my mind: hovering alldos)

[eidt: here is nice topic of you are interested in subject
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floating_ci…ence_fiction%29 ]

And if someone says that allods are in orbit around some central pull then you cannot jump off allod (more like moon-allod , earth- central puller, you cannot jump off moon and fall on earth unless u have jet packs which will counter the gravity of moon.)

How about this?

When Sarnaut went bang after hit by a meteor, pieces of planet (allods)
went flying in every direction – like a nebula when star “dies”. Lets assume that
initial gravitational pull from the core (Sarns prision) set each individual piece
bottom facing planet core, surface facing astral space without rotary movement.
After some years pieces flew far enough from the core so its gravity is
irrelevant to the allod and its habitans. So, when You are standing on the
allod surface You are sticking to its
surface because allod is in constant move generating enough inertia to keep You
on the ground – like in rocket during lift off. But, when You jump off the
allod surface You are no longer affected by that force and allod itself is
still moving leaving You behind and giving You sensation of falling when in
fact You stay in the same place.

so far all good

1] If allod is not affected by the core.

You will stick to allod not because of inertia but because of gravitional pull of allod (same as u stick to earth no inertia, its gravity)
In this case if u fall off the allod you will just stick to other side of allod and allod will still pull you.
How about this?

still moving leaving You behind and giving You sensation of falling when in

2] If allod is still in motion (i.e. still affected by core gravity)
[Rocket is continuous propulsion while bang is one time force so totally different]

Then all components on allod are traveling with same speed so even habitants are launched (one time not continuous propulsion) in a way and they will keep traveling away from core. (btw velocity is relative)

By the way this is same as whats happening right now.
after big bang matter was erupted all over.
Universe is still expanding so in a way same as you said
earth is getting away from black hole in the middle of milky way but no we wont fall off if we jump off earth.

to give an example imagine you placed bomb in a box . On top of box you place many things. Once the bomb goes off the objects will just go away from bomb. if we

Imagine this scenerio in space they will never return to original place. they might get attracted to nearby scattered objects and come close together (how various planets are born) but once they are together they cant be separated unless you apply force more than there gravitational force of attraction.

another theory:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meissner_effect

Same as the floating islands on Avatar. Islands float but water is running down off the islands.

Now i don't wanna go into discussion on how that much water just appears on those islands
