Is this game even possible to play for free?

Hey fellas, new player here.

My question is pretty basic: is it possible for a completely f2p player to get into the game, fire up a fresh new character, enjoy the solo and endgame at no cost, without running into huge paywalls or just getting ignored because I don't have OP cash shop items?

Cheers.

As much as I have always been an advocate of saying yes because it WAS possible, in my opinion once the gem shard ratio went over 500:1...I can honestly say no.
The answer is no.
Without having played the game for years already and having acquired things when the times were better...nope.
However, with that being said......A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY can get you anything and everything you need.
Investing $10 a month is all you need (or you can go to the p2p server too and get what you need too).

Sorry to be honest, but...no sense sugar coating it anymore.
It's the sad/harsh reality of what has happened recently.

Good luck and hope to see you in game.

Thanks, Groot. I respect the fact you weren't sugar-coating it.

If farming 20-60 crystals evry day isn't problem for you, you can play for free

(2-4 crystals per 1 island (10-15min work)

ofc you can make more reincarnations to farm more monay ( to get x2 reward for first win)

i famring 200-300 crystals evryday with 8 reincarnations and i have 6-8h time to playing, and i have flat ass,

so how you see its possible

gearing now is eazy

you can definitely play for free, we have a new season so goldexchange is cheap now (at the end of the season inflation will be much higher until the next season hits!)
it takes time of course but thats normal i would say

money is only the turboboost here, nothing else

basically as free to play, the game is constantly getting easier, you start at hard mode, go slowly to normal and when you have played long and accumulated lots of beneficial items etc its easymode

however if you are someone who is not patient, playing for free might not be pleasent to you

also, BESIDE the paymentquestion, consider this is a progressive game, so veterans (paying or not!) will have significant advantages over rookies

If not free, what's everyones honest opinion on how much it would cost to be considered respected for endgame? *Starting from scratch

OP here,

To be honest, I don't think the game is even worth forcing through - f2p or not. It's really just an alright WoW ripoff - both games are now old as fuck and I doubt they get much better in endgame. Honestly, SWTOR (which I just downloaded) seems a billion times better.

Honestly its definitely possible to play the game for free and stay competitive but farming all the cs-items via gold is extremly time-consuming and in my opinion not worth the time. However if u decide to play something else: pls dont waste ur time with swotor.

I´m playing Allods on and off since launch and i´ve played all the content SWTOR has to offer except for Knights of the fallen Empire with 2 level 60 toons and i can only say: bullsh**

Allods is the way better game in every aspect if you like Themepark MMO´s.

thats a bit complicated.. one of the problems with the f2paspect is that u cannot spend money when u want to get something, u have mostly spend ur money at rabattevents and wait for ur sells
as u can play this game for years ushould consider its no onetimeinvestment.
if patch 7 wouldnt be such a disatreousmegafailpainintheass compared to last classmechanics i would say spend 100euro over the time and u`ll be fine in endcontent after a year hard farming and waitin for ur sells
as in other freds insisted u should buy:
lootpet - 5eus
mount - 10 eus
runes - with beginnerbag u get full5er for 12eus but 5er is NOT respected, 7er might be if u play not like a moron
pat5- this is the expensive shit
items - theres a fred to show what items u really need
bigger bag isnt so nessecary

as this game is f2p and p2w u should mention if u wanna play or win...

go get a gymabo and play in the sun kid or watch a few transformvids on yt, summer will come...
PLS make Tekians playable race. fix shipcanons!

its true that same sales need to be waited for... but the relevant items from the sales (usually I and II ) are available through playersales all the time
and someone who want to play this game "seriously" will anyway play longer than 1 year, and in this timeperiod all sales will occur

this even leaves the option to farm for an expensive (top) item as there is enough time

Hello,

Some advice (as a player) aimed at MMORPG's in general, not specifically Allods. Not every MMORPG in the early game can 'grip' people and make them stay (afterall, we all have our tastes and opinions). However, most of said MMORPG's actually begin with end-game, not the levelling process, so it is rarely if ever the same as what caused you to make a judgement call if you do/did quit early.

From an old player perspective, back in my day there was nothing more fun than logging in and getting guildies together for a nice jolly jaunt through Gurluxor's tower (raid) and beyond. I took a stroll through the likes of Dead City recently and admit that it must have been awesome to see it in its glory back when it was fresh (it is one I missed, sadly). End-game was not ground-breaking by any stretch, but no less in quality compared to any other MMORPG's. Another thing to note is that those who couldn't get raids, or simply preferred playing solo, have that issue partially remedied by 7.0 -- I find it nice that if I can't get a group (now that I'm an old discarded warhorse without any friends from my era, nor a guild), that I can still head into solo-distortions to get materials needed to, if not entirely keep up with people, then at least make progress, or just pass the time given they're designed to be completed much quicker (for less) compared to party content. Seasonal content also means that by the time people have seen all they can see, there is another slice of pie just waiting around the corner - and we've only scratched the surface of 7.0 New Order thus far. Will what Allods offers rock your world? Only you can tell us that, really. We can't make your mind up for you -- and you can't make your own mind up either unless you see it for yourself.

Regarding the big question: Can you play for free? The simple answer is yes, but that is aimed at the question very squarely. There is nothing stopping you from playing for free - at all -- however, there is a huge difference between 'playing for free' and 'playing to compete' (for free or otherwise). Playing for free speaks for itself and can done (comfortably so) if you go about it the right way. If you're looking to just get a slice of the Allods experience or enjoy a free MMORPG on the side, there's nothing stopping you. If you're looking to do that and be desirable in certain content, you'll either require a lot of work and time, or a little donation. If you're hoping to be up there with the bestest raiders everest, that is a different ball-game entirely.

When I knew I was here to stay and had fallen in love with the game, I went half'n'half - did the grunt work and made a donation just to get to a comfortable 666-666 in 2011. From there it was just in-game work that I loved doing, whenever I was not raiding or defending in dominion. The concept of 'worth' (ie. worth of what was bought, worth of playing the game at all, the worth of pushing one-self for end-game etc.) is all relative to the individual player. For the little I paid (little compared to subscriptions I paid elsewhere in other games), I was given years of memories, met tonnes of great people, and had the pleasure of watching this game grow from there.

Maybe you could have that to? Or maybe not. Only you can decide whether it's worth trying. Good luck either way, wherever you play.

Regards,
Mhul
