Majority of the population are still from Europe and such, when you posted this it's about 4-6 am for most of us. In Avarice we still had about 10 online (got some western players recently), so I imagine other guilds have some folks online as well.
Even most of the western players are also trying to adjust to EU times, because that's usually when dominions, raids, BGs, astral happen.

That being said, it's obviously early after patch, the numbers are definitely going to drop soon.

So far of 2 weeks playing there i have to say im really enjoying the server

pvp pops constantly 2 or even 3 guilds are doing fractal (yea its ez but still) and s2 is insanely hard what makes it ton of fun

ill stay playin there until all of the things are same i had doubts at 1st that its completely dead but population is good enough for basically everything u need atm. You should try the server out maybe u will get interested like me

Funny you'd mention the mounts for P2W, while if anything then only the Dominion tools are P2W.
Even then, people who made it through the gearscore barriers first up until 72k, they didn't have CE.
