Engineer needs URGENT a buff

the only reason why ppl play this class is cause its NEW (me included!)

the class itself is inferior to EVERYTHING else, especially in PVP


energy problems even with all 3 energy rubies and energy aura, no defense (the flying pad is a bad joke), no heal, no burst damage, no proper AOE, no dot....

what is this class good for?

i have played every class in allods until max level
engineer is the worst one

the grenade and steel mosquitoes are absolutely useless while leveling

and the 4 skills (wasp nest, flamethrower, MK1 and manaexplosion need way too much skillpoints and rubies to pay off)

i really recommend buffing the engineer somehow

fighting an equal bard, healer or warrior or paladin or psi or mage or warden or summoner or archer or whatever is not possible in any rational way if the otherone knows at least how to attack

i have never seen such a bad class

i recommend add some rubies that reduce the cooldown of the fixed turret or something




just try, get one mage or whatever you want and one engineer in arena 1 vs 1, spec both to pvp, maybe even give the mage lower runes & fight
result will be the same everytime



verdict is that engineer is ONLY usefull for PVE

pvp is not possipble until enormous advantage over the enemy


oh and pls make the energy buff permanent so you must not respell it every time you die (like AOP!) this really sucks

i really must admit that in PVP i always focus engineers since these are guaranteed ultraeasy kills

do you think that "support classes" deserve no right to be sucessfull in 1 vs 1 pvp?

Of course a SUPPORT CLASS shouldn't be able to 1v1 rofl.
It's a class to SUPPORT others and make the OTHER classes do well....

lets say runes and gear are equal, normally in allods, every class is (with the correct specialisation) able to beat another in 1 vs 1
there were no trashclasses that are useless without help and are dependent on others

so you are serious about that a engineer should not be able to do PVP 1 vs 1?

Yes.

Also...in Allods...there is almost no reason for 1v1 PvP except to show off your Epeen in the arena.

I'm not trying to troll your thread. I DO agree that engies need buffs in some areas, mostly around their devices, but the class is not completely useless. The point of my post = don't give up!

P2P server,

Wellebell red zone farming with my guild; I maxed out my DPS at around 95k:




In both of these images I was one of the least geared players, running 21.6k gear score while the average was 22k ~ 24k.

Keep experimenting with builds until you find one that suits your playstyle. I got wrecked in 6v6 domi over the weekend, but I think it's because I need a combat mode build for that situation D: wtb greatness

its very interesting if this player has no good gear...

is there the possibility that he did play a LOT better than everyone else?

since i have endless respec i have already experimented a lot, cause i hoped it would be somehow like other classes that require much attention and combos, but the engineer is a pretty simple class (thats good!) with very very limited abilities (this is the bad thing)

i have leveled 9 chars to max level and i have encountered hudreads of 1 vs 1 battles while leveling

i think that support classes with support specialisation should not be able to kill proper in 1 vs 1 but i also think for every class, there should be a PVP specialisation

There is a possibility that the player may have had more pvp experience in DF, but in Wellebell, I was partied up with a few of our experienced raiders.

If it will help you, some hints:
  • Astral Shot is worthless. It has the worst damage:energy consumption ratio of all our skills. You can use Fire Shot three times for the same energy cost, for 1.5x the damage of Astral Shot, with the chance to proc more Polarities. The heat is not worth the investment.
  • Variable Polarity will always be fire damage and it is a fixed damage number; its damage will stay the same regardless of what shot is used to proc it.
  • Acid and Fire are your main DPS skills. Lightning Shot and Hand Beam Cannon are very good at controlling the reactor's temperature... for a certain bomb.
  • Dither Bomb is our strongest single target attack with 3 stacks. If a target is snared...
  • Use Flying Hover Pad to re-position yourself and/or nullify the charge > arcing combo of warriors.
  • Lastly, Magnetic Shoes make you immune to the displacement of Lovesong, Telepull, Pulse, Warrior Leap... Regular Hover Pad stops you from running around during panic spells like Bees or Fear.

9 Toons to max level and hundrends of battles while leveling is so hard to believe unless all of these toons were leveled pre Gipat. I have leveled way more then 9 toons as anyone that knows me knows they have had to send Amber Alerts just to find which one I was on. Out of all of the ones I have leveled have not had any pvp kills once they got to endgame because there just isn't the population while you are leveling anymore. Even leveling 2 at the Sub opening I didn't run into any pvp.

To be fair HCl, the bard was suppose to be a support class too when it first came out, but I do completely agree.

It is, however, difficult to BE a support class when all of your support abilities keep getting nerfed. Originally there was the prospect that Engies might be able to keep up both potency and regen, but they nixed that to one aura only. They gave us double heals, but then gave the effect a partywide 5m cooldown so if you run with a Pally tank the chances of you being the one to use it are nil. They gave us brez, but then gave the effect a partywide 10m cooldown and a full 3s cast time, again making the skill hard to want to grab since Pally tanks will always have it. They gave us Double Damage, but then made the skill useless for both Engies and Warriors.

As a support class, I am not sure HOW I am able to support. All of the skills are duplicated or somehow made a pain in the ass to use. What can I do as an Engie that I am not outclassed at many times over by other classes that also sport other options?

^this. I use fire and Acid more than any other shot. Most of the time I can move from mob to mob without straining my energy consumption. Vespiairy, fire, acid repeat. I bet you I can take 10 mobs using that rotation before I exhaust my energy!

Why in God's name would you use the Vespiary? It's one of the weakest skills we have, even in AoE applications.
