It's really a lot of possibilities all depends on the creators of the game - because they lose when people are playing on P2P. Clearly, the more money they have with F2P. The more that this gets called F2P is so populous that the passage of several weaker guild would not change anything. Everything depends on the creators of the game: money or people.

Then again, more people means more money.

I think the only mistake they made was not making the NA/EU merge take place sooner. All of asc from NA p2p ( who in turn came from NA f2p ) quit NA p2p just because of that - and we're talking here about the guild who downed bouncer 2 months before EU p2p did, and who quite frankly, made imp side a lot more competitive and progressive orientated than the pitiful state of self-pity it is now in.

If all those people that quit wouldn't have done so ( because servers would've been merged late last year resulting in a merged NA/EU p2p server from day 1 ) I think we wouldn't be discussing in this thread. If a merge with RU p2p is even slightly consided, it's best for it to happen sooner than later.
For glory.

I don't think it would be a good idea to merge our server with the Russian one since they have a much larger population and most of them don't speak English. So we'd be lost in all the Cyrillic messages.

You do not have to talk to them. You have to fight them -,-

that's actually true, only real bad side if merge happens. I do remember times when gipat went live and servers went deserted, well it happened in Russia before Europe. around 2 months prior to patch all russians came pouring into eu servers because rus one had turned unplayable without heavy cashing and boy all that Cyrillic spamm.

I dont see problem, we have same situation with french players, they cant speak english but they keep on playing, no need to cooperate with other language players. Also in pvp, u dont have to talk to enemies u fight with - u just need to kill ;)

true again, in both sides ...french spamm is scourge of EU much like brazils are for usa, usually counter is turn off all public chat channels but as you can figure it might turn counter productive in long term, fair enough though zone chats are rarely ever used and world chat even rarer on p2p at least.

Fighting against somebody who doesnt speak english is one thing.

Trying to communicate with someone who'se on your team and who doesn't speak english in order to beat the enemy team is another thing.

I don't know how sht's on lig, but on imp there are a considerable ammount of people who don't speak english, and I can tell you, it costed us in raids, however that doesn't mean they can't learn ( eventualy ) the mechanics of fights, at least in pve. Pvp is however another deal.
For glory.
