Hello,

Most of the equipment you'll get in the game will come from quest rewards, or reputation gear, or dungeon's loot.
Sometimes, you'll have it with the crafting system (if you know someone else that can craft for you).
Vendors sells some items, check the third tab of the vending interface, but honnestly, it's a waste of gold.

In Nezebrad, you have a special reputation to rise. Quests will give you some reputation points. When you will be "respected" with Nezebgrad's reputation, you will be able to buy blue (rare) reputation gear at the reputation merchant, which is at the Old Place, near the monument. She has this icon above her head :
You can buy green (insolit ?) reputation gear if you are "friendly" instead of "respected".

There is one reputation on each zone of this game.

When you'll go to the second zone of the game (Empire - Igsh) you will also have some "Anthropologist quests", that will give you another piece of equipement.

You'll have some gear in dungeon too (Xaes is the first one in Nezebgrad, at your lvl 11/12).

There was some pieces of equipment in the chest of the adventurer, at level 10/15/20/25/30 (?). I don't know if it has changed with the recent patch.
