well there are just 5 melee dps:

warrior = middle class dps with medium survivability
paladin = insane dps with high survivability
cleric = high dps with low survivability
scout = well actually i didnt see melee dps scout this patch yet but i assume its crap dps but with high survivability cuz it can be a tank
warden = high dps with high survivability (here is pure "melee" not optimal but in combination with caster even stronger so try hybrid if you want to be a melee warden)

ofc this is all just my personal opinion and i dont want ppl to be offendet by my comment...

I'm not warden player... but I think you can? I don't know how good/bad it is tho. Most popular melee dps classes were listed by Bluescarlet there so it basically comes down to you now. I recommend checking all the awesome PmB contest builds to get familiar with the classes and make your decision then.
For ranged, I could of recommend you to check Psionicist out. And just because when I started allods, it was the one class that seemed completely new to me compared to other RPGs i've played. There probably is similiar classes somewhere, but I just have successfully avoided them
And well, if you are joining Smugglers Paradise, its pretty easy at level 65 to get Core Morpher and change your class if you want to try something else. So it is possible to try out different classes without having to create a new character.
