So we're just going to assume that, most of the time, the players that have lower runes are much better skilled than those that have higher level runes?
That's certainly the direction the thoughts in this thread seem to be to me.

You guys talking too much nonsense here..its COMPLETELY normal for someone with average lvl 8-9 runes and lacking last grades of cs to beat players with 12-13 full cs..theres many ppl who do that everyday including me im not sure what game u been playing till now but maybe you might consider learning your class better.

for me it still stays gear>skill/build/>cs

Nah, maby just some ppl with full 13s and CS are dying way too fast (Hai, Sakapus xD)

I dont know what exact difference u see between pvp/pve here but you can easily do raids with the cs I mentioned before...

even better, if you look at the dps in strong raids you will see that not always the ones with the best runes do the most dmg

pvp provides challenge, pve provides smth to kill time with. so ya, every1 picks what they prefer.

this game requires skill? pff, just buy my Hello Kitty Macro Scripts.

Dragonsvk8 is a summoner : summoners cant talk about gameplay atm
Spamming neurotoxine on phlobotomy mode to dps is not gameplay
It's very stupid to play but np it's imba because of determination stat : at least* perma x2 heal and x2 dps (so perma x2 level on offensive runes)

Look the pvp dominion rank : only p2w guild on first places during past couple of years

pvp only requires cs, no skill and over lvl 9 runes will make you kill almost everything.

7s or under? you just paper in front of heavy csers. you can have myths you'll still die from someone with purples and 11s. Get your facts straight... Maybe 2 years ago the gear was making the difference, now is just money.

if i read correctly in future determination will have a different mechanic; damagebonus will come from constant attacks instead from recieving dmg
i also read somewhere that phlebotomy will no longer affect summoners determination in the future

but aside from that its not a summoner-specific thing; there are players in each class which excel due to their knowledge and experience of the game, but without "top CS" (i mean very high runes, like ~ level 10 and above)

mythic (teal) vs purple?
i doubt strongly that the purple level 11 rune player can win
he might be a harder target, but in no way he will win normally

i can tell from lot of battles in asee teph & also from cargallas
my char is atm in a mix of orange purple and blue gear, gs ~ 65k; my runes are 999-666
as soon as the difference from gear is over 6k, the target is really easy to kill, no matter what runes; i saw many reincs (?) with low gs gut high runes (full 11 for example) and they died very fast while doing very low dmg
those with gs even lower, like 48 k or something (would this be about the suggestion you made teal vs purple? i dont know the values) were dead in a few seconds

another personal experience of myself is, that when i started this game, i did not gear up and instead used all the gold for improving my runes instead
at this time i always had trouble in pvp and learned the hard way how much gear matters...
(in the end it still was profitable to let the gear down because gear gets a softreset and runes do not but thats another story)

Are you serious ? Summoners cant talk about gameplay cause determination on summoner is still worse in matter of dps compared to other classes without ANY determination ? You wanna see proofs or you really that stubborn that you actually believe what u just said ? I actually hate the idea of using some shitty skill called Phlebotomy to gain blood cause its too easy and annoying as hell to press the button all the time and shouldnt ever be implemented for the class..there were much smarter ways to do it but anyways that doesent mean that summoner doesent have any gameplay left sincerely if u say it doesent have any gameplay you are retarded and dont talk to me.

As for p2w guilds being top I should give you old NA Ascendancy as example - the guild was Top1 on NA f2w server and decided to change to p2p once it came out cause ppl were crying that they are the top guild just cause they are so p2w and guess what ? They completely smashed everybody on the p2p server and then all quit the game cause there was no competition left..yeah so much of the no skill needed.

No class requires skill anymore *_*. In addition lithium you play two of the top pvp classes atm but you still manage to cry somehow :/.
The game is dunce proof now. The stats take no brains to master, builds are beyond reason since you can just take every ruby/talent soon with new scrolls it takes all the fun of making a build yourself and using your brain. The game isn't p2w by any means, if you're smart enough you can easily still compete (this being said you'd need to have started your character before the cancer patches).
In conclusion anyone who thinks they're good at this game needs to re-think their lives because this game requires less skill than tetris. The top guilds are there because we have a population of 1000 players and the majority of the ones with big wallets are in a select few guilds leaving the rest with not even enough players to make 4 party's, nothing more. I've been in two of these "top" guilds and I can safely say the skill level is pathetic and the egos are worse , sad to say I took part in this and had an ego, god knows why? there's no competition anyway on a singular level.

the chance to someone with same gear/skill with LV7 rune beat someone with lv 11-12 (not to mention 13!) rune is like 11,3%.... so technically is possible ofc,but cmon... who are u kidding?
u can do normaly raid-pve-quest-bla bla bla....but pvp against ppl who have lv11+ runes- u can just dream about...
this game was always been pay to win in pvp...and paid to have more fun in raids and dungeons...thats the only reason why no one play it...if situacion are diffrent, this game would have more players than GW2...

So if the above scenario is in place, no, there is absolutely no possible way (unless somehow the level 7 rune got a REALLY LUCKY 100% crit rate during the fight) the level 7 rune player would beat a level 13 rune player.
It's simple math.

I think I can answer that from my experience: simply cause I played this game for so long and done alot of pvp in Asee-Teph where gear for reins is equal or close alot of the times (especially in the past when you could stay there indefinatly cause you didn't get xp from killing players).

i've been there with so many reins/classes that i cant even remember (prob like 10-12) and always for a long time and not flying by.

also, i've been there with runes of full 3's (noob) up to 9's.

obviously gear is most important. this is simple, all the rest are just multipliers. so if you hit me next to nothing cause you got a shity gear, you gonna still hit me next to nothing with 13s lvl runes. i proved it to so many players that imphasize the runes by taking the runes off in the arena.

reasonable build comes in second place. I guess 99% of endgamers got it, having explored their class long enough but thats is not always the case in mid lvls.

now for the main course, skill vs. runes/cs. it has NO formula. it depend on the runes lvl GAP + the skill GAP+ the class you are using and the class your opponent use. as you know every class got its "15 min of glory" so when a certain class is op than the player got major advantage. also classes are good against specific classes but maybe bad against other classes. putting the class issue aside, I would say an even gs player could make up a gap of 4-5 lvl runes with skill. for example, you could win an equal gs opponent with 10s runes if you got 5's or 6's lvl runes by pure skill. ofc, if you got same skill as your opponent, the higher runes will win. if you are very talented it could be even bigger gap (i remember someone using 3's lvl runes in Asee though he had better and winning most reins).

Gear > Cs > Skill

I agree with Erwyn on that, all class were made so simple that skill is really secondary. I miss Allods in the beggining ;-(

Forget about Skill > Cs thing, that is completely false.

If you have high/low cs level, you will have high/low gear level.
