Stats????

Hello everyone.
Im rather new to playing mage and i have a problem.

I am leveling a mage (lvl14) atm but im not sure what stats to go for in gear.

I was going for Proficiency as my stat to stack but seems that im not changing to much gear that way,

What stats do you think i should go for?

If it matters then im making a PvE frost build mage.

It really doesn't matter for questing, just take whatever from the quests and get on.
If you really want to do it with an effort, go for bruta/prof gear,

Yeah I have noticed that gear from the level up chest just stacks Proficiency. but it is increasing my dps output while questing so i just go with it. figured i would just use gear from that chest to level 70 or something then focus on main stats. I have not died so far so guessing that im ok atm
