I hope some staff member will reply on this question: Is it that hard for you, to organize, every week (one day) double exp? I mean, that would attract more people to play. Not like this. Why so damn greedy?

I'm sorry, but what has this thread got to do with any lucky moments?
The server is down due to either some problems with the database, or with the server structure.

But how do you know we don't already have more regular ones planned?
On the other side - the lucky moments are meant to be special, if they become too regular, then they lose their importance and just become a 'normal' part of the game mechanics - something that they defiantly are not.

They are meant to be as a reward, or a prize or a celebration. Running them too often would leave them meaningless.

Oh rly? I thought questing should be enough to keep up with zone levels, but noooo . Why would quests be enough to keep your level with zone? We totally have to grind are asses out to get level required. And why is that? I don't want to be MEGA fast, i just want it to be normal with no need to kill mobs when all quests are done.

Really you shouldn't be arguing with a mod over something like this on a public forum about a server being down. I'm sure there is somewhere you can express your concerns privately.

Almost ALL MMO's require farming of some sort or another. - Some players like this, some don't.
In most cases its used to slow down the levelling process, if a player goes from newby to level cap too quickly the player will even more bored because there is a lot less to aim for when your at the top.
By requiring some grinding between quest levels the time you can stretch out the usefulness of the story / quest line giving players something to work for with the grinding.
As it is its something like (simplified anyway):
quest -> quest -> quest -> grind -> grind -> *Ding level up* -> quest -> quest -> quest -> quest -> grind -> grind -> grind *Ding level up* etc etc until you reach the end of the quest line where you grind, or find other non-quest activities until new end level quests can be added.
if you take away the grinding then it becomes:
quest -> quest -> quest quest -> quest *Ding level up* quest -> quest -> quest quest -> quest -> quest -> quest *Ding level up* etc until you reach the end of the story when the player suddenly has to grind, or find other non-quest based things to do, which is not something they are used to - until the developer can produce more things for you to do (which is not as easy as it sounds, as you have to reach a balance between updates for new players, mid players, end players, bug fixes and overall updates).

As a gamer myself, I would much rather have the grinding now, and stretch out the usefulness of the quest / story line, then rush through the quest/story line to get to the end and have nothing to do after that.

I do agree with you Wraith but there is this one part from 39-40 which is just abnoxious. On f2p you have to grind almost a full level if you don't use exp scrolls and on p2p it's more than half a level. I've seen many new players quit there because it's simply too annoying and boring to grind a full level and also really discouraging. :/

I totally understand the grinding part at lv 59, I don't like it, but atleast you have a goal.

However lv39 is a hell. You do not have a real goal (old lv 40/42/45/47-astral islands are gone, heroics are gone, pvp is gone, astral activities are mostly undoable or locked) and if I hadn't get past that point for the first time shortly after the gipat patch I would certainly have quit. (Well, I don't remember if it was as annoying back than). I don't believe many new players who stumble over this game not being motivated by a friend or a guild will be willing to play beyond that point(or throwing money into a black box).

The coba grinding is annoying as well(as you do not even have the goal of seeing a new zone), but I could live with it, if it wouldn't hit a new player that hard. (Levling is fun until a certain point in coba when it just becomes demotivating until you reach Gipat.

I'll try and find out about the level 39 thing.

About level grindings... I've surely done that a lot of times with various reincs... However, doing the zone rep makes it a lot easier - you have a goal to reach and you get xps from killing mobs - better than just killing mobs without any other goal than leveling up. That is during lower zones. After reaching lvl 50, it's a whole another story as the amount of xp per kill versus level xp required becomes very unbalanced in my opinion. I can easily understand the need to grind say a third or a half of a level via grinding, but when it turns into whole level or more than 1 level, it becomes a killer of the game because it will literally eat up 6+ hours of hard grinding. I can understand those hours in endgame gearing/raids/events etc but to just level up to be able to continue quest line in mid levels, is demotivating.

For me personally the most annoying grind for levels was definitely from 50 to 52 in Twilight Isle and to be finally able to do the last WM quest there - the one you have to kill a bunch of demons coming in line while dragon fights against octulhu. Even with runes of 7s and 8s, the reinc couldn't handle the quest until it was 1 level higher than required for the quest - it's that hard. There was nothing but mobs to kill in Twilight Isle to grind 1,5 levels to 52 as the reps literally only gives rep points, no regular xp whatsoever and I had maxed the rep already. What made it annoying was that there was nowhere else to go because the next zone was unlocked till that very last wm quest was finished. Even though my level was already higher than the average mob level of the next zone. That's also why leveling from 39 to 40 in Yazes Shard is a pain, because mobs are lvl 38 and you can't get Gipat open till lvl 40. Put even that is more doable than Twilight Isle because the level's xp mount is considerably lower, and while the mobs gives a lot less xps than in Twilight Isle, it's still more when compared to xps gained per kill versus xps needed to level.

For me Kirah, IoR, Twilight Isle and Wandering Isle are the zones were my reinc leveling usually comes to a long pause, because those zones are repetitive and arduous. Even Pearl Ring/Irdrich is easier though more annoying with its zone layouts.

I do love this game though, and I do understand the point of grinding and I absolutely love the fact this game isn't too easy like most mmo's are, but there's a point when it's just too much to keep the love and interest up towards the game. Currently the endgame grinding is too much for my liking, thus once again, have become more inactive. It feels overwhelming to work hard towards so many goals simultaneously - greatness, pat5, gears, perma dragon tear, gold... It's like a low paid with long hours bad work - a.k.a, you work hard to get food to the table but loose your health doing so. That's how it kind of feels and thus it's no longer something fun to do when you log into Allods. At this point its the friends that keeps me glued to Allods, rather than the game experience itself to be honest.

I dunno, I'm a brand new player and I just hit level 60 without having to stop questing ever.

Granted I literally kill every mob I see(within reason) on the way to doing the next quest, so I'm sure that helps a ton.

thats the right attitude!
but even when playing like this, without extra-exp from

- lucky moments
- pvp kills (LOTS!)
- Tensess Temple Instance grinding

there will be exp-gaps at the levels mentioned, the worst are coba & yazes, but there are more

when i played the game 1st i thought i missed something or i made another significant mistake

I ran each instance as often as I could before passing the level cap for it and otherwise just quested all the way to 60.

Also, I sometimes go into bloodlust and will just decide to randomly farm mobs at any given time for an indeterminate amount of time...

I think that helps; when questing, if you have a quest to kill 20 mobs, might as well go ahead and kill 25...or 250.

When I use Marks of Fate to complete an escort quest(or something that doesn't involve killing mobs) I will make sure to stop and kill, you know 10-1000 of the next mob I come across.

...I think it just comes down to me really like killing mobs. =)

Also, I did use whatever the noobie Xp scrolls they give for free now. It was like + 120k Xp all said.

Yes you just did the grinding while questing, I did the same on main warrior, but when you are in reinc mode... It's fcking hard to grind cus of -30% Vigour. I took egg off the other day and my base dmg for spells was DOUBLE, DOUBLE(that's not normal). Anyway that is one thing and the other reason is that once you are starting out a reinc you kinda don't have the same motivation to go kill mobs and all that you just want to get max lvl to get the shared spell or something...

Edit: Also some free respecs wouldn't hurt one at lvl 20, another at lvl 40, and finally the last one at lvl 60 for new players... I've seen alot of people that have trouble and sometimes even quiting cus they messed up class build...

^this actually brings me to a question I had about Egg versus Runes:

What level of Runes does it take to theoretically equall to the debuf from Egg?

I.e. is my Runes are giving +40% damage/defense(example) would this negate the debuf from Egg completely?

Or does the Egg debuf work somehow differently than I thought?

Edit: What level Runes would I need to ha e equip to completely negate the Egg debuff?
