Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

The Broken Chains update is today and when I logged in, all of my hotkeys were reset to default and my Animist character has all of its talents cleared, replaced with unused talent points and unused rubies. Just wondering if this is normal due to an update, or if it's a glitch? Should I reset everything now, or just wait a while as everything transitions over to the new version? Mine is still in the "you can play but it's still downloading more stuff" stage. Normally it's expensive to get a full clear/reset like this so I don't want to touch anything if this is a banned-for-exploiting-a-glitch kind of situation.

-- Edit: Opened the letters the game sent me and got items to... reset my stats. But they were already reset automatically when I logged in. Did everybody else get reset, too?

Yes it's normal. You should have recieved a water of death and a water of life to test some new builds.
