this problem only exists because they no longer use the proper system we already had with wellebell, where everyone just did what he needed and was not dependent on others, its a shame

however in some future patch there will be free mercenaries again so you can do these things properly without beeing dependent on random other players

as for the "what can i do": you can

[A] wait for players yelling LFG all the time in worl / zone (and guildchat)
[B] you dont care about gold and pay for mercs
[C] you let it be since the system about gearing made a HUGE step back and refuse to gear (<- what i do); instead you try to do things that gain you gold and upgrade runes or whatever, these things at least wont get worthless after level 70 gear comes...

well not sure how helpful mercs are? when my party was missing something (seal or aop) we hired a merc in s3 and it was onehit every time something did sneeze at it so i highly doubt a merc can be useful O.o

Mercs without that cash shop item are useful only in s1.

i used cashshop item but they were still onehit

S3 is beyond good and evil, no point going there (except you enjoy the extreme difficulty)
if free mercs for easy sector would be available it would be fine already; similar to old wild shore, there you also could only beat the "easy" area while the yellow & red area were for those who are masochists enjoy challenges


but ith the current situation gearing is simply not available for every player while in last patch it was
and thats the thing i cant understand, no matter how you turn it, why they made such a big step back


(ofc you can pay mercs with gold but thats completely different from either just kill mobs solo or from having free mercs!!
if negotiant would offer astral coins it would be OK too, i dont get at all why this was not done)

btw, offtopic, doing solofarm for glyphfragments with the 7day furrymerc is GREAT!!
its really sad its not worth doing

Dont go s3 at all and go s5, gear like rest people do now and if you weant to make rest blues go AM whíle waiting 6.1

for ancient mount i would need a party again, its the same thing as with gear from astral, only difference is astral can be done with mercenaries (expensive) while AM can not

lets see how far it will be possible to catch up once the free mercs are there and whether its worth starting to catch up at this time or better not...

(my hopes are that it will be possible to properly obtain level 70 gear in future, lets see if they will make it, would be nice to have everyone able to participate in the "gearrace" from the beginning at least one time)

well i think this will never be possible ;D i mean its an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) so playing it alone is a bit against the purpose but why not just do it solo? i did s1 just out of fun and you can easily do it completly solo even without mercs you will be extremly slow this way but well next patch thoose sektors wont cost keys anymore so you can gear full blue 65 like this i mean ok you will be always 1,5 gearlvl behind everyone else like this... but its a possibility

why never possible? it was possible already with level 60... i traded all astralkeys for loot from wild shore and never wasted time on astral
i got my gear almost to max level alone and with an effort of ~ 15 min / day (only thing was NOT possible alone there was raids & enchanted gear)

i dont really care for the "Massively Multiplayer" aspect of this game, i play it because its fun & beautiful, not because i want to make friends... if there would be "allods offline" i would play that

its not fun at all beeing dependent on other players to to what i want (and them beeing dependent on me too!)
if i start the game and feel like doing an instance i dont want to ask others to join me, wait for them, etc etc... i want to start the game, select "instance" and go, without further ado like typing even a single word into the chatwindow
and if i want to stop the game i dont want to let fellow players hang there, i just want to stop and thats it, without anyone beeing sad or disappointed

the only aspect of "multiplayer" i slightly care for is in battlegrounds, having enemies... but i miss a 1 vs 1 BG where, again, im not dependent on my teammembers to do good

with my gear im far from beeing able to solo S1 and even if i would be, it would take too long as you write
i just tested and found out its really easy, even with my (bad) gear
with a proper amount of bloodlust this can become interesting
do you remember level 55 patch when we had free mercs? in a group only me & mercs most islangs took 6 - 10 min, thats what i want

i tested now and its the same, if i get full mercs (~3000 gold!) an island is also done in ~ 10 minutes... not just waiting for them beeing free and im happy


its totally ok to be ~ 1 gearlevel behind the most active players, majortiy of players i see is even behind me anyway, so my fun in BGs wont suffer from that at all

i never even try to be "the best" here or whatever because reaching this would require me to do things i dont like to do
it would be no fun... and this is not RL where things are done without fun just for the sake of having them done, its a game and games should be fun (otherwise no point in playing them for me)

i guess even if i had full 13s i still would "slack" with gear and raids, just because i dont feel like doing groupactivities all the time

**IF** the "only" stone in the path to the top would be reaching complete cs i would "accept" the challenge
but the stone of finding groups for everything is MUCH more heavyweight
(you know i already have more than enough cs items, so this is not the problem here!
+ i am not willing to use gold / $ whatever just to uncurse gear/ increase drops, but even that would be acceptable theoretically if this would be the only thing)

so in a nuthshell, i would rather farm for level 13 runes even without any gold from auctions than always be dependent on groups for raids & gearing
when we had level 60 i really had fun gearing (had ~60k gs, max was 65k if i remember correctly), actually level 60 was the best time i ever had in allods regarding gear
if i have had known that its possible to exchange astralkeys for loot i would have geared from the very beginning, but i gianed this knowledge later)

hope this makes my POV more understandable
