Paladin looks like the most appropriate class for you : many HP ans the ability to temporise damages with his magical barriers, on top of that this class ils currently one of the best DPS of the game

Dont play bard : it's the most stupid class of the game (with the mage)

Dont play warrior, melee scout and melee warden : these classes are very weak, players dont want to play them cause too hard

If you want to play a stamina class : go play paladin with 2handed weapon. It's an imba and no-brain class

if you want to play a mana class : go play healer dps with aspect of rage, it's a melee and short ranged playing too

Mage is a good class, i don't understand show clan y ou sa y that it's a stupid class

Sounds like you don't have the right build nor gears. It's the only class fitting the person's wants who started this topic - close range combat with lots of HP and good DPS. Bard might be better... yet again it depends on a lot of things.

anyway ur question sounds like the standard teenienobrainernoobquestion "wanna dont die and kill all alone lolrofl" i refuse to answer, this game needs new "players" so maybe a little hint:
sit down and relax and concern ur needs and fervors wisely so u dont end up with a warrior...
specify ur question especially in part of "close combat" coz all classes beside warrior even in meleebuild use rangeattacks so u may not end up with a warrior...
really really think twice of aspects like "has good Hp" and "does alot of dmg" coz there maybe might be some reasonable aspects of rollplaying beside Hp and dmg and maybe u will miss some reasonable funny parts of another class and so u dont end up with a warrior...

but if u wanna buy 13er runes regardlessly take warrior -> charge -> stomp them into ground -> spit out -> next

why ppl have to trashtalk each other in every threat

to the author there are 5 possible meleeclasses

Warrior: good dps, can be a tank so very durable and only melee possible, good in pve but more middle good in pvp cuz he cant provide any useful buffs (except he is perfekt for raid dominion as cannontank)

Paladin: very good dps, can be a tank so very durable and can also be ranged, very good in pvp and pve

Scout: very good dps, can be a tank so very durable and can also be ranged, very good in pve and pvp ( but as ranged pretty squishy)

Cleric: very good dps, very tanky cuz of shields and 10 sek invincibility but no real tank like scout,warrior or paladin, can also be ranged, very good in pve and pvp

Warden: very good dps, can be a little bit tanky for a while and the shields hold after this rather squishy and can also be ranged, very good in pve and pvp
