There are two kinds of RPG players, one is the player who just wants to level up and get to endgame and the other is the player who immerses himself with the lore of the game. Allods is built for the second type of player, the focus of the game is to tell it's story while not making the player think of gearing up or upgrade his current gear to make himself stronger, a player just needs to swap gear when the opportunity arises. Then when he gets to the endgame he gets to focus on improving gear and testing out builds to show what he's got in PVP.

I am playing an engineer and it wasn't until i got to level 15 that I was able to see the potential of the class. First impressions are misleading and should be limited to arcade games and fps games. First impressions don't do justice to an MMORPG.

The youtuber's cockiness makes me want to slap him silly. Giving a definite recommendation for a game he has not played even 2% of it's content is pure stupidity.

@crusoebg - the item shop is accessible to any player of Allods via crystal exchange. I should know since I am have a Pat 5 account with lvl 5 runes, a decent mount, a fully upgraded bank, and everything essential that improves my toons, all the while not even spending 1 dime of my real money. Farm gold gain item shop items. I can farm 50k gold per day just by doing dailies and doing a few runs in astral.

When I saw this video on his channel I said to myself: "Oh lord, If someone posted this on Allods forum there will be a total sh**storm in that thread....... let's do it ! " /I wasn't wrong .... the poor butthurt Allods fanboys /.

Jokes aside.

His "First Impresions" nailed, just hit the jackpot how a total new player who hasn't seen the game and never heard about it feels. Aside from walletraping PAY TO WIN cash shop, this is main fatal flaw of Allods Online. You like it or not. Devs keep adding content but there is zero focus on improving the first 1-20 lv experience which should hook new player asap.
That's my opinion. I'm out untill Allods gets slammed in some other video

btw the experience of the first few levels is great already, if someone does not enjoy the game in this time its likely he wont be satisfied with this kind of game anyway at all

Saying the first few levels are great is subjective. The first few levels aren't great in my opinion and in a lot of players opinion. Its generic and boring for those who want to play something unique where as you level you get to do more unique things, why would they play a game that has the same type of beginner leveling as the next game that costs 1/100th the price to get the best cash shop items/is subscription.

Because it's part of this kind of mmo game. This is an old game with specific kind of lore advancement. And that's why I love this game - the lore is amazing. You always start easy and more relaxed in the early levels because you are still figuring out the basics such as moving around and using skills and swapping gears. The quests carry Allods lore well and nicely and there's nothing wrong with the quests.

Allods never was a fast-based combat game - it's not meant to be. Allods is a beautiful fantasy story made possible to play.

When I say that it has the same type of beginner leveling I wasn't basing it off the story, I meant like same type of quests. I do agree that the lore is simply beautiful but whats the likely chance someone will take the time to read all the quests and lore. I only know of one person who's doing that in Omniscient on p2p out of 100 or so people.

Fully agree with that.

@ khaexea: I also meant the quest tasks - they follow the lore. On League side you are supposed to survive from the annihilation of Clement's Tower and end up stranded on a small allod called Evermeet Isle that has clear evidence of the ancient June culture and that there has been pirates. You investigate the allod to see how to get out of there while neutralizing basic dangers like hostile lynxes and cursed soul, collecting healing herbs for the injured and solving some magical phenomenons among other stuffs. Then you get to investigate who has been helping the survivors by sending food and other helpful supplies before leaving the allod for good.

I don't really see a way to make such things more "interesting" to play while considering the tasks has to be easy enough for a brand new player to understand what to do and how. You are supposed to learn the robes of the game so you can survive in the "big city" so to say and without having a huzzle of advanced players spamming your chat window with end-game stuff.

When I was new with Allods, I was pretty new to mmo games in general - I had only played 1 other "seriously" and it had been completely different so the experience for me was like the first game being like playing with legos on floor and Allods being a HD Hollywood movie premier. So understandably it took a little getting used to, on top of the fact I was fascinated from everything from graphics and music to movement and gearing. Of course players with lots of experience with mmos won't be so dazzled by Allods and may feel it as boring in the beginning as so many other games have very similar tasks to do. It's simply because it has been proven to be a good start to learn the game mechanics before more serious actions.

Regardless of what AOP posts, which a lot of which I disagree with, he has some valid points and legitimately loves the game...so leave the guy alone. I got your back this time AOP!

as you say, although we dont have the same POV in some things, we share the passion for this game, which is what matters most
