High graphics card load

hint what could be the cause of high graphics card load on events like storm. TIA

Hey everyone, interesting responses so far. One more possibility to check: sometimes it’s not just the shaders / lighting / texture streaming doing the heavy lifting — some background processes or overlays (e.g. streaming tools, OS performance monitors) can kick in during big events like storms and drive GPU load way up without you realizing.

If you’re tweaking settings, also try reducing certain graphical effects (like particle density, weather effects, volumetric fog) to see if the load drops. And keep an eye on your drivers + whether any apps are auto-starting in the background.

By the way, switching gears just slightly, if anyone here is also balancing study / downtime: when I want a break but still want a productive session, I use mccqe1 practice test sets — helps me stay sharp without killing my GPU or burning out.

Hope this helps & you get that GPU load down!
