Done first step but stuck at the second which wait for the wand to assimilate the sparks?

when you right click the wand there will comea a circle on the ground
when you lure mobs into it and kill them there you get quest-progression

You have to wait till next week. Each phase of this event lasts 1 week. Next week will be the final week, when this quest will be able to be completed. Talk to the NPC again on Wednesday and it should be ready :)
