It seems the main cause is that matron is longer casts a heal over time, sometimes small amounts on dpsers will make her "waste" her heal on them and thus letting
the tank more and more down

It's not a bug and there's nothing wrong with matron. The people in your party are simply too squish and should check their stats. I'd recommend following defensive stats:
250 caution, 200 concentration (more if your dps is too low), all rest into vitality.

mercenaries strenght also seem to depend on the gearscore of the player who summons them
if you have (too) weak players in the randomgrp just leave the grp and sign again, you will either start with mercs only or with better ones
