Game stuck loading in Launcher, "Preparing for First Run"

As the subject implies, I've already downloaded the game (via Steam), and am currently waiting to actually get into the game. Is this defunct? Thank you!

Hey!

Did you try updating the "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable" to version 14.42.X? Seems like that should fix it!

Also what might help is downloading the game launcher instead of the Steam one

That usually happens if the launcher is missing admin rights or if background services are blocked. Try running both Steam and the launcher as administrator, and double-check your antivirus or firewall settings. A quick reboot sometimes helps too.
