Is the game still F2P?

Like the title says, is it still f2p or do we have to pay some sort of subscription to play the game?
I used to play a year or something ago, and the game was pretty good. But now I keep seeing all this extended free sub on this new page.
On another note, what server is the biggest regarding population? And does the game have end game content now?
Thanks for reading, please don't hesitate to reply!
Moky :)

There is a High populated F2P Server. But its P2W.
And theres a dead P2P Server.
And yes there is endcontent, but its needed to spend money to have the Runes and P5 to participate.

I see. Is it expensive to be able to play the end-game? I mean, do I have to get a one-time buy or do I have to keep a sub going to play the end game properly?
Also, thanks for your reply

That depends on which server you decide to join.

The f2p one is technically a one-time buy but it's freaking expensive one-time buy (think hundreds of Euros total for everything needed to play properly), the p2p server has no cash shop at all but it has a monthly fee. Take your pick.

Can some of these required items be bought off the AH? Or do we have to buy expansion packs and such?

You can get everything with in game gold. A system is in place that allows exchanging gold into cash shop currency, in addition people sell many of those necessary items on the AH.

There's no restrictions to log in and play on the free server, expansions are free. But honestly, it takes INHUMAN grind to get enough gold for everything required to compete.

If you really want to stick with this, I suggest you play a summoner or a bard.

Well that's okay, I don't mind grinding that much. It's just important that I have the option to play it completely free if I can't afford it.
Thanks a lot for the info :)

you can get all stuff u need still by using some time of ure life......if u are at the lvl endcontent u can make some good gold by doing the PVP battlegrounds.....but it takes some time and the prices are getting higher and higher atm......cause some guys are thinking that they need to milk some ppl who are crazy and buy shitty stuff for an expensive coast of gold.

if u want all free just pay the price for the payment server, there u have a price for a mounth but u have no cas shop

(i hope u understand my bad english :D )

Brace yourself, you're in for a tough ride. The real progress of course won't start before you hit max level and the way there is certainly going to be difficult.

Oh and if you intend to play 100% free, make sure you research the most effective grinding build and start with that, talent resets are VERY expensive and as a free player you won't be able to afford one until at least like level 50 (even so, it's a huge expenditure of resources which you can avoid entirely).

Do not bother with battlegrounds if you're a free player, it's a complete waste of time without the cash shop items you're trying to get, it's something to do once you achieve your long-term goal. Joining battlegrounds when sub-par equipped only hurts your team's chance of winning. Also, prices actually went down since 5.0 patch release, the exchange rate changed from 59 to 56 gold per crystal.

No problem, I really am in for the challenge. I just hope the game is worth it. That's why I asked if there is end game content. Also which professions would you suggest to help me grind up the gold? I was thinking herbing/alchemy.

Here's the deal with professions:

At the start of the game you can only have one (Alchemy comes together with the ability to gather herbs, Weapon and Blacksmithing with the abilty to mine ore).
There's a quest in your faction's capital (and craftable items) that allow you to gain reputation with Crafters, when you max out that reputation, you can get another profession slot.

Now about alchemy, you pretty much really want to have it. It allows you to craft a resource REQUIRED for progress, and giving nice gold when sold on the AH - amalgam, but... there's a catch.
Maxing out the reputation is SIGNIFICANTLY longer and harder using alchemy than it is using weaponsmithing or any armor-crafting profession. If you don't want to bother with getting second profession slot - pick alchemy straight away, but if you do, you might want to get other profession first to make rep gain much easier and pick alchemy as second.

If you need any advice on playing as a freerider, go ahead and ask. I used to do it for a loooong time, before they introduced the paid server.

Edit: oh, also very important, professions are a gold SINK before the max level, actually only alchemy brings real profit and only after you level it to 60.

I wish to play a healer priest, how important is it to have an armor crafting profession? Do I really NEED it or do better items drop in dungeons, raids etc.? If it's important then I'd get heavy armor crafting (I think priests use plate?), but if I won't benefit from it in the end game I'll just go with alchemy straight away.

Actually, it's makes a small difference at best, only gain from it would be that you can craft epic level 58 items for yourself and items that allow manipulating stats on gear. The epics are only a tiny little bit better than reputation level 60 blues. It's not really important. You don't really need it at all.

I dont understand why plp say this isnt F2P.
If you want quick way to get top, then you have to pay, but its possible to get everything for free, takes time though.
You can enjoy this game totally for free, 4 lvl runes, patronage 4 is still okay, just get friends and decent guild and you are able to enjoy the game. If you must win every fight then its up to you to pay.
This game is P2W but it´s also F2P at the same time :)

normal server is free

you can have everything without real $ if you play properly and dont waste your gold

on payserver you have to pay every month, theoretically forever

i recommend strongly to play on the normal, free server

if you want to support allods online you can make purchases on normal server and boost yourself

some ppl will tell you the game is pay to win but these seem to be casualplayers or ppl who are uneducated in financial belongs

- if you need tips on how to optimize your economy without real $ PM me

edit:
just read Dala's hint about grinding/farming build, thats very important! if you want to farm actively its recommended to specialise your talent/ rubies for that
but if you dont like farming you can also make gold with the auction house (buying/selling stuff)

edit2:
i recommend to do NO professions at all, they are a huge waste of money for very little advantage
if you really want to take one, wait til you are max level and til you have basic items

The game has 2 servers:
1-New frontier which is F2P but life is far easier in this server for those who pay cash and I'll explain how shortly.
2-Smuggler's Paradise which is a P2P server where you have to pay to play monthly or so.

FYI I'm fully F2P and I guess I never paid for an online game..I think it's more challenging this way.
Anyway since you're asking about F2P then I'll talk about F2P server New frontier:
-Leveling: I for one don't find leveling that hard ( I leveled my bard back then with no mount till level 54 or 55 and no exp scrolls or may be I could barely buy 1 back then if I did)..Yup people paying cash can level faster using codex of knowledge etc but I really didn't feel I needed such things..Just do quests all day and you'll get level 60 eventually after farming some mobs as well. Also IMO bards and summoners are the easiest classes to level and farm with.

-End game content: you have 2 choices here:
a-Either pay real cash to get things done quickly.
b-or Farm for hours and days to get tons of gold in order to advance.
So simply you'll have to sacrifice either real cash or time.
Anyway I will assume you'll follow choice number b where you have to farm and that will be at level 60 as you shouldn't need tons of gold before end game..There are many ways to farm:

a-Farming mobs that are easy to kill using AOEs and drop rich loot like Werebear mobs in Plagot ruins in lower Umoir (level 55-60 area) and these give around 300-500 gold and may be up to 800 or 1000 in half an hour when I farm them with my bard which has level 5 and 4 runes and half leggy glyphs and also a decent DPS build (IMO).

b-Farming gold through DF and WH and JC and AOD and GB and maze and many other skirmishes which give medals and emblems that can be exchanged for some considerable amount of gold.

c-Anomalous sector and this is an area that unlocks everyday at a certain time where you should collect boxes in astral using ship and each box will give you some emanations (a kind of currency that you can spend for a considerable amount of gold) and amalgams but you'll need a good ship and a good crew to do it so see if you can do it with a friend who has a good ship or so.

d-Wellebelle resort (which is astral gear level 60 farming area) you can farm there glyphs quest and gears and if you intend to farm there then better go with a party so you can do it fast and get the gold fast..You can sell the glyphs from glyph quests for gold in case you don't need them for upgrade.100 glyph upgraders from these quests=1k gold and 1 piece of gear dropped from mobs there costs around 5-10 gold.

e-Amalgam quest..Simply this is awesomeness and almost my current main income method in the game. You'll need level 60 alchemy to do it though.Yes professions waste much gold and aren't quite worth it EXCEPT alchemy as alchemy will provide you with many useful things (Buff pots and HP Pots and mana Pots and energy Pots and PVP Pots like invisibility and poison PotS and defense Pots and finally amalgam quest). For alchemy quest you'll have to kill a total of 120 mobs of level 50 at least so 50-60 mobs are allowed to be farmed for quest and you'll sadly have to kill them one by one so it takes me around 1 hour to do 1 alchemy quest.I leveled alchemy in 2-4 days to level 60 and I don't even think I paid 3k gold for it..Additionally till this moment I don't have magpie so I simply collect herbs and you can use some alchemy addons to level it faster. Each alchemy quest will give you around 2 or 3 or even 4 amalgam concentrates if you are lucky enough..I get 3 of them or 2 most of time..Each amalgam concentrate costs around 1300-2000 gold and may be more in league AH but I for one sell for 1200 gold atm which is a rare price in order to sell fast and for higher demand.I said earlier you had to sacrifice either time or cash for this game right? Now it's time to give you an example:
There are items in CS that costs around 100k gold if you wanna buy them in gold and these are like reincarnation jar and the item that unlocks all racial skills for you and some mounts like wolly and gryphon and fury so if you wanna farm 100k gold and if we assume you're so lucky to get 3 amalgam concentrate every amalgam quest you do and you sell the 1 for relatively high price like 2k gold this means each amalgam quest will give you around 6k gold so you need 20 amalgam quests to make 120k gold and like 15-18 amalgam quests to make 100k gold :) and let's assume you do 1 amalgam quest in half an hour though my bard does it in an hour or close to an hour so assuming you are far more op than my bard and takes you half an hour to farm 1 amalgam quest this means you need like 7 and half hours to do 15 amalgam quests and 10 hours to do 20 amalgam quests for 120k gold and the day is all 24 hours so you'll simply have 14 more hours for other activities during the day (including sleep and if you wanna play allods itself I mean the game itself like doing astrals and so not farming only and see if you have work or university or school etc as well or just spend cash for it and get it in an instant instead of spending cash to get something in real or to learn something new or to advance in real life) but anyway that's none of my business and so far Allods is the best F2P game I've found so far regardless of the bad points it might have IMO so my advice is if you're going F2P use your mind and try to find the most efficient and effective way using least resources (gold) and also make friends and good reputation. Also enjoy the game itself for fun and don't just take it as I wanna be good I wanna be the best player..No,take it as I wanna have fun.

-All in all New frontier server is F2P yes fully F2P so no member ship for cash or something like that and all the features are unlocked for F2P so it's just the people who pay get things far faster so its all about time and effort if you don't pay cash.
I hope these info helps and are enough and if you need more tips let me know :)

like above my post, from Hilver:
endgame you have 3 choices

1 $

2 Farming

3 using the auction house to buy and sell stuff

if you do it well you will get the same amount of gold that you could farm in 3 hours with 5 minutes effort
i recommend a mix from 2 + 3

i also consider than alchemy is most gold making, most of my gold for pat 5 were made by selling amalgam, also double pots sell very good at 40g each and if you have a pet that collects they're cheap to make, for example farming for pat 5 took me like 2 months but im slow and i dont make gold more than 3 hrs per day, anyway now is way easier to make gold.

amal quest takes me 40-50 mins atm, some blue astral gear and some purples w leggy glyphs.

worst part atm is upgrading gear cost almost 500g per ~7%, doable tho but annoying
