like above my post, from Hilver:
endgame you have 3 choices

1 $

2 Farming

3 using the auction house to buy and sell stuff

if you do it well you will get the same amount of gold that you could farm in 3 hours with 5 minutes effort
i recommend a mix from 2 + 3
3 using the auction house to buy and sell stuff
Does that mean you'll buy from AH for cheap and then at higher price? because, I had a friend who did this trick in another game haha..It's much like how entrepreneurs start new business in real life..You buy goods for cheap and try to sell for higher price to gain profit which is:
Cost of raw material/inputs bought-COGS (cost of goods sold) but this is risky as you might not get a buyer if you aren't lucky enough or if your offer isn't tempting enough..There's also another way which is get much premium crystals through gold then wait for exchange to get higher and withdraw your premium crystals for higher value of gold and then wait again for exchange to get lower but this is also a risky strategy and I actually prefer the safe and stable tactics like farming amalgams.

also double pots sell very good at 40g each and if you have a pet that collects they're cheap to make

I prefer to keep double pots for personal use specially that they stack with daily blessing buffs and actually they're kinda cheap..You're trying to farm 10k and 100k gold+ so 40 gold is like a grain of sand in a great desert though ofc if sold in great numbers it might prove effective..Also pet with the manual would cost around 100k gold with current exchange which is a pain to farm or I'd prefer to upgrade runes or get the all racial skills item instead etc but I really don't find a great problem in farming mats..I can collect tons while doing mount quest as I stop and collect any herbs I see while doing it as well as when farming amalgam :D so it's about not being lazy to collect them whenever you find them specially collecting herbs doesn't dismount you and that's an advantage.I might try selling some double pots though but I think they're nothing compared to amalgam quest income.

if you buy things that you need anyway its a safe bet
like crystal chips for runes

buy 100 and sell them for 6 crystal each

lots of profit, and even profit for those who need only a few, so you make gold and help others saving it

amalgam quest is "broken" by the long cd for the spark-summoning-item... its like killing a mob, summoning the amalgam-ghost, then killing another mob and waiting 3 seconds >.<
honestly, F*** this, i have NO patience for something like this, better go battlegrounds for amalgam then and farming for gold

That's exactly how it is, but the amount of amalgam from а battleground per time spent is pathetic, even if you keep winning.

i agree that the amalgam/time rate from BG is pathetic

i would prefer direct drops instead of upgrading gear all times

imagine saying byebye to the whole amalgam and upgrading s***.... but this will never happen

so i will be patient with my upgrading while queueing for BG

.... i have not calculated but maybe it is even more efficient to buy the z-shop item for more amalgam?!
i guess it depends on the price on AH for farmed amalgam

Concentrate v Catalyst:

160 crystals * 57g = 9120 gold
^ price of catalyst
^ a catalyst nets you +9 amalgam (turns 1 into 10 therefore gaining 9)

1500-2000g
^ price PER concentrate
^ A concentrate nets you + 3 amalgam (1 concentrate = 3 amalgam)

Therefore for between 4500-6000g you can get 9 amalgam as opposed to using a catalyst and getting 9 for 9120g.

You're welcome.
