Hi, there are two pains:
- "Pain shock" that is not a Skill but an effect putted on target from Vortex or Hawk's Strike when hit a target affected from Open Wounds. This effect have to be unlocked taking the Shred ruby.

- "Acute Pain" neither is a Skill but a Ruby that make the Pain shock effect capable to inflict damage when it fade (for elapsed time or for active use of it in combo with skills that require Pain shock effect on target for additional effects) and refresh Pain shock with a spam of Hawk's Strike don't work.

May be You will find some info on my [PMB] proposal.

I Hope This is usefull
Cya and have fun

The ingame translation is completely wrong. Acute pain rubis have 2 effects:
  • It deals damage when the buff Pain shock fade out (only with the timer)
  • It increase the damage of "poison" Shred by 50% at rank 3.
The first effect is completely useless because the damage from acute pain effect are not so insame, you'd better to spam Vortex + Firebolt, it deals much more damages for the same amount of time.
Drood retraité !

That is exactly the same result.
I agree with you IF You are a caster Warden, else in 2h melee builds the dmg bonus provided from fading Pain Shock is usefull dps add since Shred has 15s cd so the 1st Pain shock work with Shred, the 2nd work with Acute Pain after 7s, the 3rd with Shred ore more time and we all agree that is mandative take it to Rank 3.

There is 1 more important bonus letting fade pain shock:
bark shield cooldown reduction (even when shred is in cd) if you have taken rubies.
