"We will also be extending the free subscription until..."

Anyone else feel like this continuing free sub time is getting a little out of hand? I mean, I play on f2p and it doesn't affect me in anyway but, at what point does it stop being a p2p server and just turn into a p2p that you actually don't have to pay for?

In my previous job, we all worked in one giant office, so I got to hear the conversations my colleagues had with the billing companies, and on lunches they would just thrash them for an hour. They're a pain in the ass. :X

Pain or no pain it should have been done lightyears before merge happened. Hey, but that's just me ;)

On
the other hand. Situation on P2P server is getting quite interesting
for my standards and belive me if I find something interesting than it
means S.N.A.F.U ;]
Here is the thing: Most of players left. Still,
there is a handfull of hardcore ppl (or masochists) who continue to play
in this pile of **** to this very moment. They are getting stronger,
slow but steady. When* p2p server will be ready (*or should I say "IF")
there will be around 20-30 players on both sides that are uber OP and
everyone else not so uber OP. That will be a major reason which will
prevent new players to join p2p server or old players to continue where
they left off cause everyone else will be cannon fodder.
In My
Opinion: sub server shoud heve been closed on the first sign of issues
so everyone would have equal, fair start when(if) it finally opens. Or
they could just reset everyone ;P That, I would find VERY interesting.

Or they could open a new p2p server to start from scratch optionally with some bonuses to catch up to the latest content.

Exactly what I was sayin on my suggestion few days ago, and even tho it was left as suggestion and haven't tought that much about it, it still sounds like a good idea to me! :D
Yes, some of the remaining players might be pissed to be forced to start over(Like 10-15 people each faction?), but IF they do decision like this and inform people (advertise :p) it could bring more people since everyone was on the same situation. With minor changes, like bag (I cant believe some people get so nuts when they have "too small" bag), and enough of FREE sub for people to get familiar with the server :D¨
And yes spine, that would be pretty damn interesting

As being one of the few people on the sub sever I hated this idea (from the other thread), but I think it might work. Reset everyone, then advertise as a 'Grand Opening'.

I agree with the changes you suggested 100% but one main thing I personally feel would be needed : Allow those who were on the sub server to keep stuff like vanity, so all is not lost.

Such a reset would seriously wound the f2p server as well as finish off the p2p server as viable things to operate. Why? Doing that would make Allods (and possibly my.com itself by contagion) the one that got reset when the publisher had difficulties. Would you play a game with that reputation? How about a different game run by the same operator?

I'd hesitate if I wasn't already playing, and I'd probably not bother restarting my p2p adventures. Continuing my f2p character would be a matter for reflection, but it wouldn't be an easy decision to make either way. Paying the resetter more money for stuff for my f2p character? Ha ha, funny joke.

The problem is that we all know that an MMORPG operator *can* issue such a reset any time it likes. Take the server(s) down, launch the "delete all characters" command, wait, bring the server(s) up. Job done. Deep down, though, we believe that even though they *can* do it, they *would*not*. If an operator did do it, however, that belief, that trust would be invalidated / violated, and then the operator becomes "the one that reset its servers"... And we *all* believe that it is easier to do it the second time than the first.

So yes, it would be interesting, but in the same way that makes "may you live in interesting times" a curse, not a blessing.

What he suggested had nothing to do with the f2p server btw...

Such reset would show my.com's willingness to just erase the progress players made over long periods, which makes a game like this useless to play.

Yes, I know. Except that the f2p server is running (approximately) the same game (certainly a game with the same name) and operated by the same operator. Resetting the sub server would directly mortally wound it, and would taint the f2p server with "run by an operator that resets servers"...

In other words, what Biromir said.

I'd say best thing is to not worry about it for a bit longer. The server itself is fine. It's the billing methods that are having issues. Considering the international currency exchange and the increase in security mixed with legal issues by truck loads I can understand why it has taken this long to get everything locked in. Although I do believe that they should provide actual updates with some detail on the matter whenever they extend the free service. Leaving users in the dark will make them leave you.

who does really think that more than 10 ppl will actually pay real money for playing on this server? :O
even now where its free there are hardly more than 5 players simultanously

+ UP.

Yup. So maybe devs should take into consideration that payment methods issues are not the primary thing that drives players away from p2p server. There is something else and there is more than enough info on this forum how to handle it.

the situation is obvious. a small but "loud" minority asked permanently for a payserver... now, they had it, but saw its better if the game is free, but no one has the guts to admit that...
so they now play again on normal server

i tested payserver myself a few days when it launched, but i saw from the beginning it was nothing for me, as i thought
others however liked it at the beginning and saw it later (micro bag, slugmount, etc)

the experiment has failed, a payserver is not accepted by the vast majority of the community

the ultimate proof will follow as soon as payserver stops to be free

payment is the best fact then

The worst thing that can happen to a game like this is uncertainty. The main issue with the subscription server in my opinion is the uncertainty that it would be free or paid next week. One extension by a full month would have been much more healthy for the server than the weekly extensions it gets right now.

There is no such uncertainty on the free server, and it is probably why it is doing quite well.

You keep opening your mouth to talk but everytime you do it, you somehow manage to say more bullshit.

Have you played on the p2p server at all? The reason p2p failed was behind the poor management of the servers. NA p2p "died" when all core of ascendancy people left ( and soon after them core of league side since there was no competition to be had ). The real problem was opening 2 different p2p servers on 2 regions ( NA/EU ) from day 1. What should be done was make only 1 server from the start ( and NOT manage them in such a miseable way as they had ).

A lot of people used to play on P2P, but most quit because of the management, and the rest who remained quit aswell due to the domino effect - "oh player A quit, less ppl qq, I should quit aswell" "oh dis grypon sux, wheres my titan, i need to bash some people on it . Oh no titan? qq better quit".

^ Typical attitude of the vast majority who played there, so I'm not surprised you have it too.

P2P was made "harcore" the the eyes of some people ( and by hardcore I mean the struggle of using a 30-42 slot bag at endgame ) as it is to new people who just now start leveling on f2p server and actually try to be f2p, with was not the case.

The mere fact that P2P still exists on RU and plans for a 2nd one opening is the evidence that P2P here didnt fail because " it wasnt accepted by the community".
For glory.

It's because EU/US community has (sadly) significantly less real hardcore players than the RU community.

russian community is different and if there play more ppl ofc there are more who will play on payserver

and yes, i played on it while it was free, and it was horrible from the beginning
on normal server you have many row bag from start(!), while on payserver you can buy 1 small row in as teph for ALL your money, lol

also you have to pay EVERY time you respec, while on normal server i can respc ENDLESS for FREE (buy one time SFOD)

and what attitude is this "they leave, thus i leave too"?! i dont care for other players, i play as long as i like... and if i dont like i even stop when there are 98349235 other players, or i continue if im the only one

oh and no titan and stuff? yeah, that ruins it too for me

what you say is not hardcore its more like driving car with the handbrake enabled.... but good luck with your bag, everyone is free to do what he wants :D

i did not see any failure in management but the impossibility to pay, but since i would never pay one cent for an internetgame i was not confronted with this problem... i played the free 1st week and stopped then, when free trail stopped

i respect your decision to pay for less content, again you are free to do as you wish

I didn't have a bigger bag before level 46 (that was the "cap" achievable without flying Astral back then) on the free2play and no mount until much later. Actually, the scale of hardcore is something like that:

(most hardcore) f2p server without paying >>>>>>>>>>>>> p2p server >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> f2p server with paying (least hardcore)

also you have to pay EVERY time you respec, while on normal server i can respc ENDLESS for FREE (buy one time SFOD)

Even if you got the money or time to actually acquire the needed resources (which is damn expensive or hard - take your pick), good fu***** luck finding that on the market.

finding on the market is actually a problem, i was patient enough to save gold for a long time waiting all the time for a fountain-sale
when it was sold i bought it for a very low price, since everyone tried to sell his fountains of life

however, after the lootpet the sealed FOD is the best item in game, so it was worth the effort for me (dont forget you can respec all your reincs too)

my start in allods was hard for sure, but now i have nearly everything for free and i am happy about that
