As a scout,

I would aim for more 60/40 maybe even 70/30 to prof depending on how you play. I think base damage should not be sacrificed too much. In fact as gear scores increase, you may see the trend toward more prof over any other offensive stat.

However, don't ever discount determination. In PvP, it can be a valuable ally. Even as a ranged class.

I think a lot depends on which class you play and how you play it.
As a Healer, I need Brutality as much as Proficiency, so I can heal with a great boost, if my targets are about to die.


But I'd say in general, that having Brutality is especially good for PvE, while having Proficiency is better for PvP. 'Cause not everyone can switch his stats as he'd like with a fountain of life, and this also isn't the biggest change at all (It's 16-17 points, isn't it?), I'd balance these two stats in a ratio of 50/50, or 60/40 (Prof/Brut).

As a summoner who plays usually as FH, I need more brutality than proficiency.
So I'm trying to reach the 40% Prof / 60% Brut.
Imo for Summoners that's the best rate, or, at least 50% and 50%.
But I think also in Summoner DPS builds it can be fine as well, because dots are more and more efficient as the enemy's health goes down and (imo) because in this way you can face better a "long fight", when you're beginning to take more damage or when your mana's begin to be too low, it's the moment in which you can deal more damage and heal more yourself (or be healed more). Same for our pets.

When I'm farming alone with the DPS build, I find useful the "-Prof/+Brut" as well for the reasons explained above

as fh summoner i use 30prof/60 brut, as dps 50 prof/40 brut

I use max prof and min brut for farming (1 or 2hit mobs, no bonus from brut here) and a 50% - 50% ratio for killing things that do not die in 1 second (pvp, astral and wild shore)

You 2 hit lvl 60 mob?? Which lvl rune you got ? Which class? Gear scrol?

Scout should never have Determination. I honestly would say 60-70 Prof and 45+ brutality. Devastates people in PVP and it does wonderful in PVE
