Newbie in Allods Online

Hello, I am a newbie in Allods, I started playing a few days ago. I really like to play this MMO, but it is really expensive to play, or get good runes to make a good PvP. I want to know if it is worth playing allods. Thanks

But the runes are not too expensive? I see people playing two years ago and don't have lvl 8 runes. And good runes make a lot difference in PvP! (I really like PvP, and the PvP Allods seems like very fun).

you wont see many free players with runes over 8 because theyre very costly in gold/farm time, tho 7s are enough to be decent in pvp, read the topic below where hcl calculated costs in gold. I can say it's ok to play, you'll see players with 10s that suck way more than those with 6-7, it's not 100% about runes, if you have free time it's totally doable.

le:http://en.allods.com/forum/index.php?pag…d&threadID=2808 this topic, but crystal price is around 45g per 1 atm, but you can make an idea

game is DEFINITELY woth playing, you can get EVERYTHING for ingame gold using goldexchange NPC

just dont waste your gold on vanity or other things which dont improve your char gameplaywise if you play completely free (like me)
if you wish to donate you can boost yourself and save time

i recommend gettign a loothelper 1st, its the moist helpful item in the whole game

best PVP will happen is asee teph zone with level ~25 until 30

loothelper is a magpie bird, which autmatically collects the loot

this means you must no longer run to the dead enemys to collect their loot :)

Allods is completely F2P for everyone (yes, there's a subscription server, too, but lets leave that out for now). It's a fun and challenging game, one that will take some time and patience as well, and you won't have to spend a penny. However, like in most online games today, you can spend a particular amount of money to gain some advantage or to speed things up.

As it was mentioned above, runes worn by unskilled players don't make a difference. You may engage in PVP and defeat others, who wear better runes than you; it's a matter of skill.

maybe its useful for you to mention there is a npc that exchanges gold (which you get from killing monsters and quests) for crystals (which you could also buy for $)
so instead of buying with $ you can buy with ingame currency

that means you are able to get everything just from playing the game

20.000 if exchange is 1:40
25.000 if exchange is 1:50

its easy to calulate :)

dont farm gold before you are level 60, its not worth

with level 60 you can get gold from farming: i think 35 gold / minute is "minimum" while my personal record was 135 gold / minute
if i farm i am at average 120-130 gold / minute

when you reach GIPAT area (level40) you start getting good gold from Q

i recommend as soon as you reach enough gold to buy lootpet get it

next you can cheaply extend your runes from 2-1-1 1-1-1 to for example 3-3-3 3-3-3
anything else i recommaned you wait for the time when you can farm proper

buy CC in auction house, the prices there are lower than directly in regular z-shop
this way you can buy small amounts for nearly the price of the largest amount (discount shopping)

protip: we will get tropical atoll event soon: try to get a FREE horse or wolfmount there!

Runes are not necessary for leveling.

exactly. the damageboost you gain is there but its really not necessary for leveling
from time to time i take off all my runes and try to play, im surprised everytime when i see the effect, its not as strong as you might think

runes are overestimated!

I skimmed through the thread and I didn't see this advice given, so here it goes.

If you're new, after getting to lvl 60, focus on getting your cash shop things first, before your gear. The cash shop things will constantly go up in price. They will never be cheaper, but gear will constantly be becoming cheaper to get. 5.01 will supposedly make it much easier to get basic/mediocre endgame gear. So if you prioritize gear, you will have to spend more on the itemshop things, and if you prioritize itemshop, you will have to spend less on gear.

I'm not saying blow all your resources on runes, but... try to buy 100 crystal chips every week and use what you have left on gear. Most importantly - find a pace that is suitable for you. If you can't make it to buy 100 cc every week, make it every other week.

Don't even bother gearing past crafted epics before you got at least like level 5 runes. You can farm upgraders if you find a group that will carry you with level 1-3 runes but just toss them in the bank and forget them until you're done with the cash shop.

Major thing to notice in 5.0 is that basic crafted gear is SIGNIFICANTLY more effective vs regular mobs (that you farm) than it used to be for 4.0
This encourages grinding on reincarnations of "good-for-farming" classes rather than playing your main if it doesn't belong in that group. Back on Irdrich that was stupidly inefficient because character you didn't gear was weak vs regular mobs. With 5.0 character you don't gear is strong vs regular mobs.

But honestly, in the older days it was much, much easier to obtain cash shop goods for in-game gold, it turns harder and harder with every update. If you're just starting right now you should read what I posted in another thread, will quote it here:

To my perception there seems to be four kinds of player:

(A) Has lots of time to spend, but little money.
(B) Has lots of money to spend, but little time.
(C) Has lots of both money and time to spend.

and (theoretically)

(D) Has little money and little time.

although I am not sure if the (D) type is real, if someone falls into that group - they're doing something seriously wrong with their life.

Having played on both servers I can confidently say this:

Player (A) should definitely go p2p server, player (B) should definitely go f2p server and player (C) can go either one and be very successful.
Player (D) (if it really exists) should obviously get to fixing their life and turn to either (A), (B), or (C).

Edit: Know that only player (C) has the real freedom to make a choice. For the other types, if they choose wrong, they will both experience frustration (albeit for much different reasons): (A) that he can never farm enough to compete with (B)s on the f2p, and (B) that he can never catch up gear-wise to compete with (A)s on the p2p.
