[PMB] Guide to be a bastard Psionicist

INTRODUCTION


Hi all, I am Cyrana, a Xadagadian mentalist in the italian guild Pirati Bastardi and I play Allods since the beta.
I'm going to explain you all about psio tips and gameplay.

I really like play psio because it's a versatile class that can be useful in a lot of situations and it has a play style that can change ad adapt depending on what we have to deal with. Our main feature is the capability to use frequently CCs spells in combat that allow us to survive and make hard the life of the opponents; this is one of the best class to play if you enjoy PVP. The only mechanic that you have to know about psio is that it use Concentration stack to active some spells, really simple, isn't it?

About the psio's builds, we can do different little variations according to our preferences, but I think, in general, it's better to use Fire build for PVE and Astral build for PVP and I'll show you these both, even if is possible to make an Astral build for PVE but I'm not fan of that because of less damage.

6.0.0 Changes

Really good are the improvement that we have on this
new patch:

The damage of skills "Psychic Shock", "Astral Venom", "Shock, "Destabilization", "Pyrokinesis, "Pyrolisis", "Choke", "Erase Memory" and "Mental Explosion" is increased by 15%.

Now the effect of Mental Pulse and Telekinetic Pull that move the opponent will ignore willpower.

Mind Fire does not more affect Phlebotomy.


New ruby:

Insight: the spell Concentration for 5s reduces the cooldown duration, of Psychic Shock and Astral Venom and reduces the casting time of Pyrokinesis and Pyrolysis by 50%.

Irrational Fear: Damage received by the enemy increases by 50/100 % for 15 seconds, or until total damage, equal to 10% of target's health, is dealt (ct: istant / cd: 10/5 m).

Tricky Mind: Knockdowns and stunning effects with a 33/66/100% chance will ignore target's Willpower if the target is under the Will Suppression effect. All damage to targets under Will Suppression is reduced by 30%.

Depression: Reduces target's incoming healing by 50% for 6/12/18 seconds (ct: istant / cd: 45s).

Unending Knowledge: In addition of increase vigor by 3/6/9 , there is a 33/66/100% chance that damaging a target will not dispel the Hypnosis effect if the target has more than 90% health.

Racial Skills:

Xadagadian --> Sonic Wave: stuns the targets over a cone-shaped area for 4 seconds (ct: instant / cd: 2m).

Arisen --> Magic Armor: gain immunity to hostile spells for 5 seconds (ct: instant / cd: 2m)

Oracle --> Elevated Insight: Dodge all physical attacks for 5 seconds (ct: instant / cd: 2m)

Seer --> Concentration Anticipation: Grant 3 stack of concentration (ct: instant / cd: 3m)

World Mystery's Skills:


Brilliant Aura: Restores 1% of mana to you every 8 seconds.

Premonition: with that skill we know when some hostile opponent targets us.

Gift of Tensess: Calls on the Light to resurrect a friendly target with 10% of health. Target is unable to perform any actions for 3 seconds after resurrection. Cannot be cast in combat.

TALENTS:


Psychic Shock/Astral Venom: Inflicts XX Astral damage and grants you one stack of the Concentration effect at a 20% chance. If the Concentration effect was not received, the chance of receiving the Concentration effect with the next use of Pyrokinesis, Pyrolysis, Psychic Shock or Astral Venom increases by another 20%.


Mental Link: Establishes a Mental Link with the target. Mental Link is required for casting certain spells. Damage you inflict to the Mental Link target is increased by 20%.


Pain Transfer/Destabilization: Inflicts XX Astral damage to the target. Consumes one stack of the Concentration effect. Pain Transfer and Destabilization share a cooldown.


Pyrokinesis/Pyrolysis: Inflicts XX Fire damage and grants you one stack of the Concentration effect at a 20% chance. If the Concentration effect was not received, you will inflict additional Fire damage, and the chance of receiving the Concentration effect with the next use of Pyrokinesis, Pyrolysis, Psychic Shock or Astral Venom increases by another 20%.


Twin: Summons a twin of yours for 30 seconds, moves you 15 yards away in a random direction and turns you invisible to the target of the spell. The enemy receives a Mental Resistance effect which makes them immune to a repeated application of the spell. The twin mimics you, but receives 3/2.5/2 times more damage. Requires a Mental Link.


Concentration: Instantly grants you 2 stacks of the Concentration effect.


Ectoplasmatic Form/Astral Body: shield absorbing damage for 10/12/14s.


Hypnosis: Hypnotizes the target for 30/45/60 seconds, make it unable to move or casting spells. Requires Mental Link or Will Suppression effect.


Mental Pulse: Inflicts XX damage, knocking all enemies back 15/18/20 yards from you and stunning them for 2/2.5/3 seconds.


Choke: Inflicts XX Astral damage to the target every 2 seconds for 8 seconds and slows their movement by 50%. Consumes one stack of the Concentration effect.


Mental Cleansing: Heals you for XX plus additional XX every 2 seconds for 10 seconds and dispels one negative Poison, Disease and bleeding effect from you.


Telekinetic Pull: Creates a gravitational anomaly on the surface of the ground, drawing all enemies within a 10 yard radius to it. All affected targets will be knocked down and receive immunity to Telekinetic Pull for 20 seconds.


Wall of Blades: Creates a vortex of weapons surrounding the enemy target, which lasts 5 seconds and inflicts XX physical damage per second to all enemies within a 10 yard radius of the target. This damage is not increased by the established Mental Link.


Seal of Health: Increases maximum health, mana and energy of all party members by 10/20/30%.


Temporal Acceleration: Increases your speed of thought by 15 seconds, but you lose the ability of accumulating Concentration effects. Decreases the cast time of Pyrokinesis, Pyrolysis and Wall of Blades abilities by 50%. Decreases cooldowns of Psychic Shock, Astral Venom and Erase Memory abilities by 50%. Increases your movement speed by 50%.


Phantasmal Killer: summons a spectral copy of the target for 30 seconds which attacks its prototype. The Spectral Assassin receives 300% additional damage, but only the prototype can attack it. Consumes 2 stacks of the Concentration effect. (Useless now, but in 6.0.1 will become stronger than ever *_* ).


Will Suppression: Suppresses the will of the target. Duration of control effects applied to the target under the Will Suppression effect is increased by 20%.


Astral Breath: Inflicts XX Astral damage to all enemies within a 25 yard radius every 2 seconds and decreases movement speed by 50%. Duration: 8 seconds. Consumes 1 stack of the Concentration effects. Consumes 3 Tears of the Dragon.


Thoughtful Spirit: Inflicts XX Astral damage to a target. Consumes 1 stack of the Thoughtful Spirit effect. Every 20 seconds an additional stack of the Thoughtful Spirit is generated, up to 5 stacks total. Consumes 1 Tear of the Dragon.

RUBIES

Stat rubies:


Mental Fortress, Master Augur, Unending Knowledge, Mind Bender, Enthusiasm, Analyst.
These are a must have in all build, they are easy to reach and is a nice boost
to our stat.


Psychic Shock grid:

Mind Fire: increases cd of the next three abilities used by target up to 20s ( ct: istant / cd: 1m). Really good for pvp.

Irrational Fear: Damage received by the enemy increases by 50/100 % for 15 seconds, or until total damage, equal to 10% of target's health, is dealt (ct: istant / cd: 10/5 m). Useful in PVE to get down some bosses, just use it on 25% of their life to trait benefit from brutality of all party.

Insight: Concentration for 5s reduces the cd duration, of Psychic Shock and Astral Venom and reduces the casting time of Pyrokinesis and Pyrolysis by 50%.


Sharp Incursion: Will Suppression immobilizes the opponent for 2s. Another good stun of our that is really annoying in pvp.

Master of Illusion: 50% of your damage is redirected to twin and it take 100% of that damage. We need that twin is alive in pvp, so I think that is useless.

Egoism: it boosts Astral Body and Mental Cleansing by 30%. Good for pvp.

Mental Crisis: it boosts Erase Memory and Mental Explosion by 15%. Not bad if you have enough ruby.

Step over Madness: increases Astral damage by 9%.

Tenacious Mind: Choke deals 15% more and increases range by 15y.

Rejection: armor +15%

Aura of Astral Power: 15% more damage but 50% less heal

Gravikinesis: Stun and range of mp is increased by 30%. Really good for pvp.

Shattered Nerves: Psychic Shock and Astral Venom abilities apply a Shattered Nerves effect on a target which stacks up to 5 times and increases damage from the next application of Pain Transfer or Destabilization spell by XX per stack.

Telekinesis: increases range of tk by 30% and make it deal XX astral damage.

Shocking Strike: increases damage of PsyShock and Astral Venom by 12%


Mental Link grid:

Superficial Trance: restores all mana in 5s (ct: 5s / cd: 5m). You will take 100% damage under casting so use it out of combat or after Astral Body.

Easy Reach: Decreases mana cost of your Mental Link, Will Suppression and Telekinetic Pull spells by 50%. Increases range of your
Mental Link, Will Suppression, Erase Memory, Mental Explosion and Telekinetic Pull spells by 10 yards.

Pyromania: increases damage Pryroliysis by 21%.

Detachment: Concentration spell applies 3 stack instead of 2.

Pyrophrenia: Your Pyrokinesis and Pyrolysis abilities grant you a Pyrophrenia effect that lasts 20 seconds, stacks up to 2 times and decreases cast time of Pyrokinesis and Pyrolysis by 0.1 second per stack.

Tricky Mind: Knockdowns and stunning effects with a 33/66/100% chance will ignore target's Willpower if the target is under the Will Suppression effect. All damage to targets under Will Suppression is reduced by 30%. A must for all pvp builds.

Experienced Manipulator: decreases the cd of mp and tk by 30%.

Chronokinesis: decreases the cd of Temporal Acceleration by 45%.

Extrasensory Gift: decreases the ct fo Mental Link by 50%.

Cruel Master: Increases duration of the Mental Link control effects by 20%. Increases damage of your Will Suppression spell by 20%.

Tranquillity: decreases cd of Concentration by 33%

Lord of Fear: Assassin deals 30% more damage. This skill will makes our assassin a wonderful asshole in 6.0.1 .

Triumph of Reason: increases physical and fire damage by 21%.

Anger Management: Increases the critical strike chance of your Choke, Mental Pulse, Erase Memory and Mental Explosion spells by 5% of your current critical strike chance.


Outsmarted: Your successful hits with the Choke spell apply an Outsmarted effect on the target which lasts 15 seconds, stacks up to 5 times and increases the damage from the next Psychic Shock, Pyrokinesis Pyrolysis or Astral Venom by XX per stack.

Pain Transfer grid:

Exodus: teleports you and your group to a safe place (ct: 10s / cd: 10m).

Telepathic Gift: restores 50% mana to a party member (ct: 1.5s / cd: 5m). Healers will appreciate that ;) .

Depression: Reduces target's incoming healing by 50% for 18s (ct: istant / cd: 45s). This in combo with Mind Fire will make really hard the life of opponents healers and summy in pvp.

Loop of Time: sends you back in time 10 seconds, restoring you health, mana and position ho their former state ad dispelling all negative effects applied within the last 10s. This is our life saver in almost situations.

Moral Trauma: Your Pain Transfer and Destabilization abilities apply the Moral Trauma effect on a target which inflicts XX damage
every second for 6 seconds. Only high gs ppl have benefit from these.

Stinging Blades: decreases ct and mana cost of WoB by 30%.

Solid Grasp: decreases cd of choke by 3s and the slowdown effect to 80%.

Astral Curse: mp and tk will apply an effect that deals XX Astral damage at the next successful astral attack on the target. Really nice extra damage in pvp.

Fighting Foresight: incoming critical damage are reduced by 15%. Good for pvp.

Optimization: when a Temporal Acceleration effect is active, all affected abilities cost 50% less mana.

Clarity of Thought: increases critical strike chance of Astral Venom, Pyrolysis and WoB by 12%.

Calculating Mind: increases critical strike chance of Destabilization by 15%.

Mental Reign: increases damage of Destabilization by 15%.

BUILDS
FIRE PVE BUILD

#Pyrolysis Build PVE#

The Link:
use mental link on bosses and leave will suppression for adds.

DPS rotation:
Mental Link --> Choke --> Pyrolysis x6 and Destabilization every time you can --> Choke --> Temporal Acceleration --> Pyrolysis for 15s. Go on with Choke --> Pyrolysis --> Destabilization until Temporal is ready again. With Temporal Acceleration and 6 stack of Pyrophreina you can shoot Pyrolisis every 0.7s for 15s

Stay Alive:
use Loop of Time when you take lot of damage in a single attack, also you have Astral Body to survive to bosses attack, and at least, you can use Mental Cleansing for a little off-heal and dispelling negative effect from you.

Party Supplies:
to help your party member you have lot of useful skills. First of all Telepathic Gift restore 50% mana to that noob healer that is not able to manage his resource. At 25% hp of bosses we have Irrational fear to get of 10% of its hp faster. Exodus can save our party when tank or healer are dead, not bad. Hypnosis can stun dangerous mobs for 1m And at least, of course we have both Seal and AoP.

Since I never go out of mana thanks to Optimization and Superficial Trance, I run Dagger and off-hand as weapon even if Paired weapon should be the best choice for PVE.

Stats:

Offensive stats: Proficiency / Brutality ---> 50% / 50%

Defensive stats: Vitality / Bloodlust ---> 80% / 20%

ASTRAL PVP BUILD


#Astral build PVP#


The pvp rotation is not simple and it's hard to explain for my bad english but I'll try.


The Link and Dps rotation:
problem start with links and which is the best to use and when: we need both because of different skill they unlock either useful for pvp.

Start battle with WoB precasted and use it to get extra good damage. About Link start with Mental Link (after Astral Body if the target already see you) and then Twin. We have to deal damage while we keep away from our twin the opponent. To do that we have mp, tk and sw that we have to use every time we can while we spam Astral Venom and Destabilization. When twin is dead we can start Will Suppression and thanks to new rubies we are going to ignore the willpower of the opponent. Astral Venom is r1 because it's here only to get concentration stack, not to deal damage, spam it every time you can. Also use Thoughtful Spirit x5 after a mp.


Stay Alive:
Mental Cleansing dispel lot of negative effects like the annoying dot of summy and restore our health. Astral Body work really good with determination, keep focus on that. LoP as usual can restore health after an huge attack. Against Healer/Summy/Warden we have Depression that is really annoying, also Mind Fire brake some of the most dangerous combo in the game. Oracle and Occultist racial skill can help too if necessary.

The CCs Spells:
Mental Pulse --> 3.9s Stun, available every 16s.
Telekinetic Pull --> knock down, available every 20s.
Sonic Wave --> 4s stun, available every 2m.
Will Suppression --> 2s stun, available every 10s.

Psio can win pvp only by control opponent, these skills are the key to win!

Stats:

Offensive stats: Proficiency / Brutality / Determination ---> 40% / 40% / 20%

Defensive stats: Vitality / Bloodlust / Willpower ---> 65% / 20% / 15%

Psio in PVP it's really fun to play and even if you don't have high gs you can still have fun annoying opponents and become rally useful to your raid in skirmishes. As we say in italian, psios are a painful finger in the ass!


Conclusions


I am sorry for my bad english (I forget often the "s" on verbs :P) but I tried to do the best of mine on that guide. I hope this can help new players that approach to psioncist class and enjoy this great game that is Allods.
