I haven't used the addons because of all the fuss of downloading andthe ones you see as green (your fellow players) are yellow & red for other faction (player with pvp OFF yellow and npc / player with pvp ON always red)
you can know the pvp-status of your fellow player if you click him and look at his portrait, if there are crossed swords its ON
there is a 5 minute buffer if you have pvp ON until its OFF again, however turning it on is instant
and yes, if yours if off you dont have to worry at all (just dont attack the red player or it will go ON)
only careful when a warbanner pops, but its clearly visible at the map and can easy be avoided
so you can avoid all the pvp and level in peace without getting molested if you wish to do so
btw you can use the ship for pve too, a lot, ship-pvp is rare
however you cant disable pvp for ships so keep ur eyes open, because destroying a ship gives gold
however if ships gets destroyed, it gets a 4 hour buff which makes it "drop" no more gold, so 99,9& of the time you wont get stalked by killers
(also ship can be restored, used if wrecked in pve too)
death is no serious matter in allods
(it only was for some limited time when items got cursed from death and other nonsense, but this silly mechanic has been discarded for a loooong time now)
btw you might wan to get some ESP addon, would make you know if an enemy is nearby...![]()

but there are others too
Might add something...
- Contested (PvP) zones start from Asee-Teph level 23. Zones before that are relatively safe. It's rare an enemy will come to these lower level zones to kill unexpecting people because those zones DO NOT drop warbanners so enemies can't kill anyone unless someone has their flag of war on (Which some people have to gain xp faster on lower levels. And that's how I've gotten killed a few times in the past in Siveria - League's level 11-16 zone). Capital zone is the most common low level zone where you might encounter enemies but even that has become rare.
- Some zones have camps which are protected - for example Eljune's Bazaar, Coba Plateau's Prospector's Inn, Avilon's Historians' Camp, Dragon Ring's main camp, Kirah's Whirlpool of Time and so forth. Each such protected area has yellowish shield buff showing on your icon's buffs.
- After Asee-Teph, each new zone will progressively have more quests you have to do that turn your own flag of war on from killing a mob or npc. In this way (annoying I know) the game tries to guide players into PvP. I call that forcing into PvP, which I personally hate. However, the game has become low on population that means you can play most lower zones 60% to 70% of time without ever engaging into PvP. Weekends and Lucky Moment (special) events are always more busy and you can see much more PvP.
- In my own experience, most PvP "heavy" questing zones are Asee-Teph, Eljune, Coba Plateau, Yazes and Kirah. Especially Kirah at certain hours when some max levels comes to either race or search Time Wanderer npcs only available for certain times of the day and Kirah in general have lots of quests turning your flag of war open so a random passing by enemy player can snipe you dead. (Happened to me yesterday with an incarnation. I had 1 min before my flag of war would have closed after doing a quest to kill an enemy npc boss. Went happily to do other quests and a level 65 opposite faction player 1-shot me from behind while I was killing a bunch of cobras. It was frustrating because I was close to leveling and incarnation loses 10% of it's already gained experience, if it dies. At those levels, that's a lot of xp when you are close at leveling.)
- As a new player and before reaching 55+ zones, dying doesn't matter much. The mirra you get (1000) when you start playing lasts a very long time unless you die very often. Try keeping your Patron level the same as your character level (you gain points by using skills that use mirra: Salvation, Marty's Gift, Martyr's Guidance and Martyr's Protection). The higher your level is, the more it buffs you. (Don't mix it with Patronage level that gives you your patronage skills mentioned above, that can max be 4 without Item Shop goods). Patron level is indicated in white when you hover your mouse over your Great Martyr's Sign. It can't be higher than your current level. Such upgrading will use lots of mirra so you will need to buy more of it but it also gives a significant boost to your character (needs incense used you can gain daily for free by doing Regular Customer quest.) While 55+ levels doesn't mean anything in the sense of dying, resurrecting yourself, however, becomes costly - using considerably more mirra and gold to buy mirra).
I haven't used the addons because of all the fuss of downloading and
installing and keeping them updated every time the game changes, etc.
Another thing I want to know is when you attack mobs, it says "Not in your line of sight" and you can't hit it until you get out from behind a rock/etc. Does that apply to players? If I go behind things and get out of their line of sight, does it delay them from attacking me so I can buy time to escape? (Also curious if that works on running from mobs, too).
1. When you get about 1000 golds, buy 100 000 mirra, it will last quite some time. After couple more zones you will start earning more gold faster....
I die a lot and it is already making me wait 10 minutes before I can resurrect; I don't remember how much it charges me but it's a lot more than it used to be. I'm up to Level 38. I've leveled up my Patron thing to match my own level so I've already spent and bought lots of mirra by now, and it now charges me 100 mirra to use the Patron spells.
Are people who are reincarnated more likely to bother me because they've beaten the game and have all this special stuff, or more likely to leave me alone because they don't want to lose Exp? I was under the impression they'd see me as an easy target because they already beat the game once and have all those bonuses and they're more likely to beat me.
Also I was wondering if you can attack someone who is AFK, especially when the game automatically sets you to AFK because you've been idle. Beating up people who aren't at their computer to fight back is pretty lame but not sure if the game figures it's your own fault for going idle at unsafe places. Sometimes I have to leave my computer and I just move away from the mobs but worry about players finding me. Does ducking down somewhere out of sight help because people won't notice you unless they're tapping the target button and the target lands on you? If they have the addon that makes players show up on the map I suppose they can find you anyway. I would also use that for things like you mentioned, when waiting at a safe place for the PVP to time out. Can people attack you inside the Kingdom of Nature? Because that's a pretty quick way to get somewhere safe if you have to leave your computer or wait for PVP to wear off; there's usually not very many people in there when I go, if there's any at all.

Thanks so very much.![]()
Logging out is a pain for me because the game freezes when I close it, so I use the Task Manager and select "end process" to make it close out instantly. I guess that probably takes me out of the game instantly, but then I have to re-open the game and wait for it to load all over again, go through its "handshaking" thing and all that. Is there an option to log out but not close the game, like if you want to switch characters? >.> I could probably use that and leave the game running? Basically that's the only way to be sure you won't get eaten by random banners if you're outside the save zone? I feel somewhat comfy when I'm in areas that are difficult to reach. Is it possible to fly on this game? It was standard for everyone to fly on the game I came from but on this one it seems you can't fly and a lot of the mountains/etc are unclimbable and it makes you go all the way around and so on. I've been using places like that to slip off for a bit because I figure it's not worth the trouble of people going all the way up/around to get to me. I camp out on the edge of the map, too, where I figure nobody will bother trekking all the way out there just to get me. Another place I hide is those group-only dungeons, where you can summon the mercenaries and nobody else can get in except your party. I stand inside the door and AFK.1. When you get about 1000 golds, buy 100 000 mirra, it will last quite some time. After couple more zones you will start earning more gold faster.
2. There are all kind of incarnation players. Many incarnations level doing mostly (if not only) PvP - they prey on everyone but specially new and weaker players because, as you said, they have all buffs and item shop items already and are considerably stronger than any new player. There are also skittish incarnation players who fear losing xp via dying and there are those that enjoy leveling and questing and don't really care about occasional PvP but don't go deliberately seeking after it either. So in all honesty you can never tell from any incarnation, if they are seeking PvP or not. One thing is for sure - new players are the most juicy targets they can be killed with couple shots. You shouldn't worry yourself over it too much though, enjoy the game as much as you can, avoid PvP, if you don't like it. While leveling you shouldn't face unbearable PvP.
3. The cursed item thing is ancient history. There's no penalty whatsoever in dying unless you play an incarnation (as said multiple times). So as a new player, you have nothing to worry. It's only annoying, if you are in a middle of quest and respawn somewhere far away and the nuisance of spending mirra for faster resurrection.
4. Enemy can attack you when you are afk, if it's in unsafe place while having flag of war on. If your flag of war is off, only players with warbanner can attack you. If you afk in a safe spot, that yellowish shield icon, nobody can attack you in any way. If you know you have to leave your toon afk for more than a minute or two and you are far away from safe spot and have a reasonable doubt there are enemies around, fastest is to log out (around 20s) when you can always log right back where you were. No point in teleporting anywhere because most of the time you have to run back to the spot from further away. I'm not 100% sure is warden's KoN completely safe from enemy faction's wardens. Can't remember is the main camp there a safe spot or not. Next time you visit there, check do you get the yellowish shield icon in the camp and/or can you get a warbanner drop by killing the mobs. I always recommend logging out - it's the safest and doesn't require that much. Usually a minute or two afk doesn't end up in death unless attacked by wandering mobs.
5. Dala answered the question of in line of sight issue. Also mage's ice meteor (or something like that) ignores sight problems - it can travel through a "solid" rock as long as it's within the spell distance. Dala is also right about addons. They give massive advantage in game. I know, because I don't use any of them and most of my friends does. I'm not computer savvy and the whole addon business is confusing to me so I'm not trustful enough to use them.
6. The players that have addons (most) can see you inside tents, behind rocks, inside small caves etc, so those places aren't really "safe". Also in some tents and buildings, your name may show through the wall, if you are close to a wall.
Also it seems easy to download something illegal because you don't know what you're doing. But what I feel doesn't matter, that's how it is.
I don't mess with addons because I don't like downloading extra things, especially things I don't understand and ESPECIALLY things written in some other language. I don't know where to get them or how to use them or how to know which ones are OK and which ones are illegal hacks. I also don't know how much space they'll take up on my computer, if they'll make the game/etc run slower, so on. I play the game to relax and relieve stress, so anything that will cause stress instead of relieve it will defeat the point of the game for me. I literally have NO ambitions beyond collecting all the horse color patterns and buying a ship so I can decorate it. I'm not good at real-time games and I don't think all the downloads in the world could change that, but since I don't know anything about them I don't know what "real advantages" they would give, and I'm too lazy to spend all day long researching them on Google trying to learn about them. For me to bother, they would have to be really amazing, like, all craft items turn out Epic every time, or something, and like I said I can't tell what is ok to use and what is considered hacking the game/cheating.The game changes like two to three times a year![]()
Addons are well worth the time spent to install and configure. They give real advantage.
The fact you replied to me while I was still typing a reply to you and then saw it after posting is pretty awkward. :'DSomething illegal is not really possible to do. At least not for long. As soon as a clever addon developer finds a questionable use of some function, game developers remove it from the API and his addon stops working. Either that or they change exploitable game mechanic.
There was an addon "AutoSellGrey" that was greatly helping botters, it's been disabled because of that. It's not technically possible to write anything like it anymore.
Another such case was "SetMyTkaRik" addon that allowed very efficient gold farming in Cave of Tka Rik. Developers greatly minimized advantage this addon gives.
If you can load and run it - it's not against the rules.
It's just really weird to me because I've never played a game that allowed that sort of tampering; the last game I played had this very thing specifically in the ToS that anything that alters the game to your advantage would get you banned, and on another game I played you could be banned just for exploiting a glitch in the game.
Logging out is a pain for me because the game freezes when I close it, so I use the Task Manager and select "end process" to make it close out instantly....
Logging out in Allods means logging to the character selection - you get there by simply clicking log out from the menu. Exit game shuts down the whole game. You are perfectly safe in log out screen after 20 seconds it takes to log out. That's absolutely the safest afk. There won't be many instances you could enter anymore since you said being like level 38 or so. Next small instance like that comes around level 41 Gipat's Defiled Ruins, then at level 46 in Isle of Reveleation the wormface cave before you get Tka-Rik open. After that it jumps closer to level 52 or so and so forth. You have zones in between that doesn't have any instances in them or require raid setting to enter. Is it possible to fly on this game? I camp out on the edge of the map, too, where I figure nobody will bother trekking all the way out there just to get me. Another place I hide is those group-only dungeons, where you can summon the mercenaries and nobody else can get in except your party. I stand inside the door and AFK.
I am annoyed a bit that people who download extra stuff gain secret advantages over people who play the game normally. They aren't THAT necessary, are they?
