Does allods still have a lot of life left?

I just started playing yesterday and I like the game a lot. It's so much better than many of the alternatives I've looked at but I notice that the servers have a low population and people in Reddit have said the game is dying and skycraft is a more or less newer replacement. Is that true or will it not be a waste of time for me to really get into this game?

It's a good game worth trying.
Give it a shot.
The only way you can truly know if this game is right for YOU is to try it yourself. :)

Skyforge isn't at all like Allods, tried it for a while but it's a lot less interesting to me at least.

Hopefully we'll get a lot of new blood when we get the 7.0 patch and when it goes up on Steam.

I know what you mean. This game is by far better than any other f2p mmorpg out there and it is certainly worth getting into as long as you really get into it.

As much as people say it and as half true as it is, the server IS dying, but it will not die any time soon so you dont have to worry about that.

What i mean though when i say you have to REALLY get into it, is that to play competitively you will need to whip out the credit card every now and again.

Most people just play casually though, games are not just about playing competitively, you can chat with people too :p

Tbh I don't feel like it's dying, sure some people are on a hiatus now because they got got the mid season depression. We killed all the content, gearing is almost finished for most end-game players. So yeah, it's a little less busy now. But they should come back soon enough when the new patch hits. I can't wait!

The server is far from dead. You don't need 100 000 people in-game to fully play it - in fact, lower population makes the game lag less and run more smoothly, if you don't have a latest gamer's computer.

You have to remember different time zones - some are less populated than others. Generally European late noon to evening and late night are the most active times while early morning to noon are less active (except for players from i.e. Australia) in general because most of the active population lives in European countries. It's far from ideal for most Americans, which is partly why many of them quit the game.

Do try the game yourself to judge it - don't listen so much about other people's opinions :) Only competitive PvP requires either massive amount of gold grinding through years or some serious cash investments. The lore up to level 65 (current max level) is fully playable without spending a dime exception being the newest and hardest raids unless you join an active guild. Older raid dungeons you can get carried through by some friendly geared up players :)

+it's very beautiful game
+many players will come back when 7.0 comes out, not dying any soon
-game is hostile, players are hostile, and hidden discrimination and arogance rules the skirmish and social things in game.
-heavily p2w (patron5, runes, scrolls). When I read what Glacia wrote in one thread about gold farming for 1 eng game thing I instantly stopped playing it and now waiting for 7.0 just like many players do.

Thanks for all the replies. I really liked the game for the day or so I tried it but wanted to make sure I didn't grow invested in it right as it was on its way out. You have all encouraged me to go ahead and enjoy it, so that's what I'm going to do. :)

Personally, I love this game. There's no other MMORPG out there that I have tried that beats this game, in my opinion. However, I haven't played this game for over a year now. It's mainly because of two things:

1. It's heavily pay2win. There are stuff that you will need in order to enjoy the great end game contents like raids, PvP, etc. These things can only be acquired via the cash shop. There are some things that are possible to get with ingame gold, however, in order to get that much gold you must spend many hours a week for years probably, and many people do not have this time. Also note that paying some cash on a game I really like doesn't bother me too much, but this is kind of insane, it will cost you way too much money.

2. Too many immature and cocky players. Every time you you play a skirmish, especially Goblinball, you'll get jumped on by different people calling you very unkind words. It doesn't matter if you do bad or good. If you do bad people will pick on you for that, if you do good people are jealous and mad and will rage on you for that reason.

Although these two things makes me leave the game every now and then, I always find my way back to it, be it after a few months or even years. It's because the game itself is awesome and I've had a lot of fun with it as well.

I'd say if you're new to this game it may be worth it to start leveling up a character now, learn the game and meet some new people. However, for all the old veterans out there who are thinking about coming back, I'd recommend to wait for patch 7.0. I'm assuming that all max lvled players are now well geared and it may be a bit difficult to find groups for gear farming. Also, I'm hoping for big improvements in 7.0. I'm hoping for a better future for Allods.

Oh by the way, if you're new to the game, perhaps try it out first on the free server, but if you really like it, I recommend paying a small monthly fee to play on the subscription server. I wish I would have done that, but once you've spent a fortune on your character on the free server, it's difficult to just leave it all behind and start fresh.

Hi,

Hi.

how many people play allods online

It is probably one of the smallest MMORPGs available at the moment. Our population is very small, however, if you're looking for a quality community, you've found one. This is one of the best (albeit most critical) communities out there. So give it a shot, you may make some awesome friends. I even found my wife here, anything is possible with allods ;).

what is the best server

No single person can truly answer this question. That is completely subjective to each person's point of view.
However, we can try to lean you in the right direction for your particular playstyle.
With that being said, what are you trying to accomplish in this game?

Do you have some money to spend? Maybe $20-50 a month?
If you answered no to that question, do you have a lot of time and patience to farm a lot?
If you answered no to that question...do you have no money to spend on the game, but want to play anyways?

If you answered any of those 3 questions with a yes or more than one of them with a yes, I would highly suggest the free to play server (New Frontier) as it has a HUGE population (In comparison to the Pay to play server [Smuggler's Paradise]).

If you answered no to all of those questions, see below.

Are you trying to be the absolute best player?
Do you have at least $11 a month to spend on the game?
Do you not have an issue with a small population massively multiplayer online game?
Do you not want to compete with the ever increasing cash shop items that are introduced about once every 2-3 months?

If you answered ALL questions number 2-4 with a yes, then the pay to play server (Smuggler's Paradise) is probably the right server for you.

the server with the most people.

New Frontier, by a landslide. It is probably a 20 player to 1 player ratio (20 players on New Frontier to every 1 player on Smuggler's Paradise).

Cheers

Back at ya. I hope I was able to address some of your concerns. If you have any additional questions please feel free to comment on here again or send me a forum PM.

Good luck and we hope to see you on the battlefield! ^^

Awesome bud! We need more like you.
This game really is an incredible game, however, it's under-advertised, so the biggest/only way we can become a populated game again is by word of mouth. :)
I'm glad to see someone is willing to share this game with their friends as well.
Hopefully they can do the same and we'll start growing again!
