Swimsuit: Starfish Delight





Note: was thinking to add a starfish necklace for male (starfish hanging on thin white rope necklace) but don't know if it would be too much or it's better more simple like this.

Once again wanted to create something different from the usual - women are 99.9% of the time displayed in tiny porn bikinis. There are other swimsuits existing... And men are always in short shorts or panties-like swimwear.


Starry Night swimwear

The idea is that normally the outfits are black but when using emotions in game the outfits lit up for 2mins. Pretty much as the old Anniversary wings and headgear - except with a longer glow.

Female swimwear info: The head jewel at the back of the head is either a hair-comb or a hair-clip made of gold stars put together with black beads. Necklace is made of 3 gold stars and black leather strip - stars: small, medium and large at the lowest point. The single star hanging from the swimsuit is golden. You can see toes from the star centers on shoes. The blue hue in the swimwear is indicating highlights.

Male Swimwear info: The sunglasses are black but the glass is dark blue and while lit up there are 3 stars - one in the middle and one on both sides (is considered as the headpiece of male). The necklace star is made of gold and is hanging from black leather strip. The 3 stars on pants are golden - the middle one is larger than the ones on sides. You can see toes from the star centers on shoes.

Obs: I chose a closed swimsuit, because until today, has never created an outfit such to the female version. I think even closed, it still shows the sensuality and curves of the characters.
The side pocket accompanying can be disregarded, it is just one more detail on clothing.

Steampunk note: is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.


Color Pallet

Hello all! I had some ideas for this awesome competition but these outfits here have been my sole purpose for this last week!

Starlit Sky
I was drawing a bit and this is what I came up with.



The headgear of this outfit would be a necklace with spirals of some sort. Or anything around that general idea.

The color of the moon and other details is regular yellow/metal-like yellow. The black is a night sky full of stars.
The moons on the mens swimwear is meant to be something resembling pockets. Although it's not necessary of course.



And a bit of a mock-up of how it could look from behind and the sides. Did not include any of the male from behind or the sides, since it's pretty straight forward!


And this is what it could look like in game for both males and females!

I never reach even top 3 in this competition. All the winners in previous years and this year too have been bikinis of some sort that resemble very much of something found in rl also. And the trend has been strongly following rl fashion as retro has been sought after for few years now.

First winner in 2014 was the classic marine bikini, in 2015 it was the paisley pattern and now the winning creation is pretty much from the 1960's with head piece and all.

Another point I've noticed is that if the design is mostly hand-drawn (or looks like it), it gets more attention from judges than those made with computer. It may or may not be true, but that has been the trend in these last 3 years.

Can't complain though, my creations have never been the mainstream bikinis, so I had no thoughts of reaching top 3 this year, specially when I added the idea of the glow when used an emotion. More so, my swimwear could be taken as a party dress also, I suppose and that's probably one key factor why it never makes to top 3. In Finland we have real swimsuits that look like really short dresses although beneath there's a swimsuit bodice without open front and back like my design does.

Personally I thought that this year's winner would have been the Pearl design which came 3rd, so I was truly surprised to see the actual winner. Well, saves my money as I won't be buying it. No offense to the winner, who has fairly deserved it, but it represent a style I really don't like.

Next year, can you please remove this "symmetry" rule. It is very limiting.
