does anyone remember where its located?

good you found it
there are always 2 possible locations for the stone; if somene gets it before you it maybe seems like there is NO stone (try on the other location then again)
even though this quest is nice and good to learn a bit of the topography of sarnaut, it can be easily skipped (rightclick it and select "finish quest" ; consumes a low amount marks of fate)
