New player needs advice Please

New player here. I have started to play a few days ago on the P2P server and I am really enjoying Allods Online. I have 2 questions please:

1)
I will try different classes but I would appreciate some suggestions regarding best class for my playstyle. I need a class that can solo well as I have a full-time job and will have to log on some days only to play for a few minutes on my own (weekends I play almost all day).
However, I want to play a class that would be very needed/helpful in a group because ultimately I play MMO’s for the social aspect.
And preferably the class should not be the worst class in PVP as I will also PVP.

2)
Because I play on the P2P server I guess that everything in-game cost gold (e.g. mounds, bags etc.).
Therefore, I please need to know what is a good way (or the best way) to make gold in Allods Online.

Will it be gathering and selling the material? Or crafting then selling craft items? Or maybe questing?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Actually, you can't get any good mounts for gold, only mediocre ones which in my opinion aren't even worth their price. As for bags you can't get them for gold at all, they are bound on pickup and drop from Gorluxor's Tower/Tep's Pyramid/Eclipse.

Technically you can get smaller bags for low amount of gold at the Nezebrad/Novograd banks, up until level 30 as well. But obviously it doesn't really matter, since you can finish Tep on 70 so easily now.

Thanks for the replies.

Any suggestions regarding the best class for my play-style?

I will test the classes, but often a class plays different at max level than it does at level 10.

I have made a Bard on the P2P server called Laerel, so if you see me in-game please wave
:)

yes and the same emoticon says "goodbye" which is the complete opposite to waving for saying "hello"
removing this emote was really silly

and bard is good for solo / teamplay, later you can make 2 builds, maybe you want to make 1 for groupplay and 1 for soloplay

Warriors are an excellent option for easy soloing and farming.

Check out the guide I wrote in the Warrior archetype section. That build is perfect for soloing (and can be started as early as level 25, I think. I have to take another look at it from that perspective) and farming since you have pretty much no downtime and take significantly less damage.
For reference, I can take on 8 to 12 same level enemies and come out of it with only about 20%-30% health lost (against 12 enemies. 8 enemies I take next to no damage).
The build does have weaknesses in that you won't be able to deal damage efficiently against bosses in Distortions (solo dungeons, available starting at level 67) nor in Allods (group dungeons). The main concern there is time, though.

For PvP, the build is kinda stupid because you will be able to take a ton of damage and dish out quite a bit yourself. The build applies quite a number of debuffs (which either have no cooldown or rather low cooldowns) and is perfect for harrowing a single target.

Hello,

7.0 release has reworked every single class so that each one is desirable (to some extent) in group activities thanks to role selection. It simply boils down to each classes individual solo'ing speeds and/or whether you'd prefer to tank, heal or damage in social/activity groups. As a Summoner player myself, I get to enjoy their solid soloing (they've always been good at it in all iterations of Allods Online due to heals, pet support and good AoE) - and being able to go as DPS or Healer means you can always find a place in a group.

Would suggest browsing the Archetype forums for build ideas on several classes (some may even mention whether they're good/bad at solo'ing) but bear in mind that some threads may provide outdated information due to the very recent 7.0 expansion, so keep an eye out.

Hope you find what you're looking for - and whatever you pick, make sure to do some research first so you know how to build efficiently. If you're time constrained and just 'wing it' as a result, it's quite possible to make things way more difficult on yourself (slower).

Good luck!

 Thank you user_1104294 and Mhuldoon for the really good advice – much appreciated.
I will surely level a Warrior and a Summoner to at least level 20.
