Class Name Revamp

Well, guys. You know, every class has a different name in Allods is great, but some names are completely out of sense. I would make a few but I will just include examples like Kanian Magicians compared to Elf Archmages. Also Orc Reaver does not seem like any type of warrior of justice I know. It just feels like your typical warmonger so I changed some of them.

The class name picking process was hard and lore actually made it harder but I enjoyed it and I hope you enjoy it too. Also I included Elf and Arisen Engineers because each have a reason to be.

-For Elves, De Ardeur house is known for its architecture, art and technological advance. To name a few, Celestine de Ardeur (known as Tep's Pyramid boss Nihil to most) was one of them and that is considered to be the reason she worked for Tep in the first place.
-For the Arisen, well their body explains everything. Also most of them are scientists. Also we have Tep, one of the greatest necromancer-scientists Sarnaut has ever seen.

Also there are very little racial abilities for Engineers. So, I am starting.

KANIANS:
-Warden: Druid
-Mage: Magus
-Summoner: Warlock
-Paladin: Crusader
-Healer: Warpriest
-Scout: Ranger
-Warrior: Veteran
-Bard: Skald
-Technician: Inventor

ELVES:
-Mage: Archmage
-Summoner: Corruptor
-Paladin: Templar
-Priest: Luminary
-Psionicist: Philosopher
-Bard: Maestro
-Technician: Magitech

GIBBERLINGS:
-Wardens: Animists
-Psionicists: Psychics
-Scouts: Tricksters
-Warriors: Fighters

PRIDENS:
-Warden: Herbalist
-Mage: Elementalist
-Paladin: Protector
-Healer: Dervish
-Psionicist: Dreamer
-Scout: Huntmaster
-Warrior: Savage
-Bard: Muse

XADAGANIANS:

-Warden: Beastmaster
-Mage: Spellcaster
-Summoner: Medic
-Paladin: Commander
-Healer: Archon
-Psionicist: Dominator
-Scout: Agent
-Warrior: Blademaster
-Bard: Agitator
-Technician: Gunner

ORCS:
-Warden: Shaman
-Paladin: Enforcer
-Scout: Cutthroat
-Warrior: Warlord
-Bard: Balladeer

THE ARISEN:
-Mage: Invoker
-Summoner: Necromancer
-Healer: Savant
-Psionicist: Mystic
-Technician: Technomancer

Hope you enjoy. You do not need to agree with me but tell your opinions without offense, please. Thank you for reading.

Very well spotted.

The class names in English translation are a huge mess, some have been deliberately changed into something not even close to the original meaning (Elf Summoner, Orc Paladin are the most glaring examples). The whole "healer" archetype is completely busted name-wise.

Also I heard this propagated further outward since other translations (German, French) were translated from English version, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I've posted about this problem back when Gpotato was the publisher, then another time after switch to my.com here:

http://allods.my.com/forum/index.php?pag…40503#post40503

It seems they either don't care anymore or don't have the budget to do it properly (fixing that requires pretty much going through entire game's worth of text).
Engineers were added when the game was under my.com already and again they completely changed one of them out of the blue. Even later they added the Priden, yet again - not consistent with the original version.

There's Gibberlings and Arisen Engineers coming in 7.0.2 and those names are really hard to mess up but I won't even be surprised anymore if they don't translate it good enough.

Fun fact: When you get that quest to bring costumes to the fashion collector NPC in your faction's capital, you get buffs with class costume names you need to bring, not only those are different than the names on actual classes, but they also are far, far better quality translation.

Dala, as you suggested I changed some names so you may want to read again.

I was also thinking of the same thing with class archetypes. Summoner is not much of a good name, and Necromancer fits that theme better. Healer archetype is also out of sense because there are multiple classes that can heal, and all of those classes surpasses the ''Healer'' in terms of healing. What healer have is mobility supported healing and that is not a full healer's theme of healing. I would make it Priest instead and that would make more sense.

I would also want to give Summoners pet choices like Wardens have, and even give Summoners the same easy approach to their summons like Wardens have. They just max 1 summoning skill and go all the way as they like, on their first skill line. That is just unfair.

And Gibberling Inventors? What the hell? Gibberlings are such a technologically unadvanced race while Elf Architecture and ''de Ardeur'' house remains. Celestine de Ardeur is a known name by many people (but all the people know her as the Tep's Pyramid boss Nihil) and de Ardeur's technological researches are known widely in the League. Even Kanian Inventors are a waste of a class becuase they are not halfway advanced in technology as the Elves are. Allods is just making wrong choices here.

Also, if they want a Gibberling class so bad, they can make a stealth-based assassin class. Like Paladins, you know warriors who use holy spells are called Paladins. They can make a scout class which uses darkness and poisons, so mix Summoner and Scout theme and make an Assassin class, it shouldn't be too hard considering this game just did a whole revamp for all the classes.

why gibberlings dont fit as engeneers? O.o didnt they invent the astral ships? so no race fits the engeneer more than a gibberling^^ especially cuz they could compensate their lacking physical power with technology this way

Actually, you are right. I did not really think about that fact. Thinking of it, they may be even more suitable from the Elves.

I agree, the names really need to be changed.

That being said, Orc Reavers, well...

To be honest, they *look* like "reavers" to me.
