Global Cooldown

Could Allods team please remove that global cooldown? Even if we would have an increased cooldown / cast time for specific builds, that global cooldown is terrible.

Like Pyromancers, I would make the global cooldown 0,5 seconds instead of full 2 seconds but with this change:
-The talent that reduces cast time of Firebolt, Spark and Explosion gets %16 / 33 / %50 cast time reductiono when you stack Flash Lightning but no longer doubles on Flash Lightning, and gets increased to %75 instead. So that you have 0,5 second cast time on the spell and 0,5 second of Global Cooldown.

Like this example. Pretty much the same thing but would save people from a lot of trouble. I do not know, 2 seconds are just WAY too much for a global cooldown. Even halving it without changing anything is actually enough.

It should be reduced to what it was before 7.0.

Removing it entirely would break the game. Some classes have a spam skill with no cooldown, no cast time and no resource cost (Psychic Shock for example), without any global cooldown at all those skills would only be limited by your connection latency. That would be outright ridiculous.

No absolutely not.

Removing GCD would give players with lower ping a HUGE advantage!
I bet someone with nice ping is asking for this...

It's bad enough that I have to "play" Goblinball like this and look people using skills instantly while I have to wait 1 sec+ for every skill...

If GCD is removed I can very well quit the game instantly.

Gotica, I do not know why people like you like so much to twist my words.

First, Global Cooldown and Cooldown is completely different. That is why you would feel no impact in Goblinball. But Allods is not based on Goblinball, it is based on battle. And more importantly, Goblinball is not affected by Global Cooldown that much. When it was 1 second people could play Goblinball just as fine. I hated Goblinball but that is another story. And you must of course battle, but the Global Cooldown makes people so slow and unsatisfying in battle. Hey, I just used a skill and now I must wait 2 second for using another skill.

You know what? Global Cooldown being 2 seconds is more than Mage's Trial by Fire duration. You are getting a Trial by Fire without moving in weird directions just because you casted a spell.

With proper alterations like putting a 1 sec cooldown to spam skills so you can not everlastingly spam skills like Psychic Shock and Firebolt, you can make it like the old one. The old global cooldown was something like 1 second and no one got a problem with it. Currently Howl of Death is one of the most enjoyable skills to use in my opinion just because it is not affected by Global Cooldown.

Completely removing the cooldown is of course not healthy, but reducing Global Cooldown like the old one is no problem and can hardly break the game considering it did not break the game when it was actually 1 second.

^this
i was already thinking about playing my summoner as a main instead of my psionicist because of this

before it was 1,5 sec
now its 2,0 sec
its incredible how 0.5 seconds can ruin the gameexperience this much

To be honest, i think if you want global cooldowns removed, you're just going to rage about the huge nerfs you will get in return.

Cleric for example, remove gcd from that class and you have an extremely overpowered class.
Summy will be able to spam dots again.

the list goes on.

When you get these global cooldowns removed, and your skills do next to nothing in damage, you are basically a scout.
(scout has next to no globals cooldown)

not a complete removal, just remove the change we had back to normal

it was 1,5 sec before (normal)

i just want the 0,5 sec frim 2 sec gcd removed :P

summoner still has the limit of blood, masspulls are limited due to this
cleric also has fanaticism-ressource which mimits his dmgoutput even is tere was NO gcd at all

Sign the Paper to revert the global cd to the value it had before :( now it gives classes with different cds an immense advantage like summy for example

I think the Global Cooldown is reduced in 7.02. I guess it's up there with the most unpopular things ever implemented in game.

Not as far as I can see in the patch notes (including hotfixes). Only the effectiveness of the support debuff that increases all cooldowns (which includes global cooldown) is reduced.

when i read the patchnotes from 7.1 i shortly had my hopes up the game would feel ok again

General

Fixed the bug where, for a short time (up to 1.5 seconds), it was impossible to use abilities after the effects which increased the overall cooldown faded.

however this had not the effect i hoped for at all

and yes, the game feeling like chess is a good comparison :pinch:

Currently unless u boost the druid dps (like 1.5/2 time) u can't change or reduce the GCD cuz the skills (most of them) susten/cast 2 sec for that class (perhaps for some other too ) so unlesss u wanna change or kill a whole classe in the game, it's a dead-end.

druid is a fine dps ... also in pve its the godmode healer so the class doesnt have to worry^^ btw less gcd would help him too cuz you have some instants like emerald glow, roots and so on...

First, about the people who rant about goblinball. When the global cooldown was something like 1 or 1,5 seconds, you were able to play it. I do not know why are you ranting so much considering all the skills except kicking the ball has a cooldown, and you cannot just spam kicking the ball because you know, you don't always have the ball.

I will give Howl of Death as an example. You are supposed to use that spell very often which consumes a huge amount of resource or a special stack. That is why it is not affected by Global Cooldown because it has some restrictions. Most of the spells are like that. You cannot just spam it like the old times.

About Summoner's DoT spam, you know Summoner has an ability called Ritual of Plague and a ruby named Advanced Genetics. It can spread its DoT's already. The Summoner is not being affected by Global Cooldown that much, but not casting Vampirism quick enough to consume all stacks of Dehydration is annoying sometimes.

The Global Cooldown is bad for classes who like to use a lot of comboes. You cannot just swiftly use your skills in rapid succession and there are classes that are actually based on comboing their enemy.

Also about the Summoner, I think these patches made Summoner either god tier or trash just because Summoner is a DoT class. There is a reason the old Summoner got all those heals and defense, because it is a DoT class it had to live for longer periods of time than other classes to actually work. That is why its attack specs must not be the dop dps but instead more survivable than the other classes.

Summoner was the class that put a seed of darkness to people, and watch it grow from afar. All the Summoner did after the implant of poisons or restorations was to support it with less considerable abilities except Reanimation. Before the rework, the Reanimation spam was all the problem the Summoner had. Plague of Mending was good but not toxic and unfun by itself because of its immunity timer but Reanimation was BOTH when people spammed it. And Reanimation is still spammable and Summoner cannot even walk when using its heals now just because it can spam an ability that it only uses after Dark Veil.

Summoner damage path is overloaded with damage right now. That is why people actually think gutting its defences is good. Allods Team is just trying to make a DoT class a glass cannon but a DoT class is never supposed to be glass cannons in the first place. Summoner was the most defensive mage ever, but had the least damage output when it was trying to defend itself. That was what Summoner is.

If I would make Summoner an enjoyable class and the glass cannon it must be, I would make Ritualist a defensive move, like we taking a little less damage after our Rituals, and instead halving the cooldown of the Rituals and decreasing their blood cost, but would make Ritual of Plague Support only, so Support would be the typical AoE debuff Summoner while Assault Summoner has a little more defense and with an easier damage over time management to make it actually have less stress to play. Also, if people hate Blood Ties that much, making it exclusive to Aspect of Healing is an option.

Speaking of Rituals, making Plague of Mending a ritual ability would be appropriate considering it does not feel like an actual plague now. Instead it feels like a ritual of restoration like most other spells the Summoner currently has.

This change would make everyone use a kind of ritual but only their own special rituals. You know, even in real life magic every magical path has its complete rule of rituals. Without being benefitted by a ritual, Assault is actually unfun to play because of the short duration of poisons. Renewing them spends all the time it would spend for DPS'ing with the Global Cooldown wasting their time but PvP Supports never really cared about Global Cooldown.

Whatever. Global Cooldown kills combo classes, not the Summoner. The Assault build is the only Summoner path that actually suffers from it.

You never played goblinball when you could cast shields 24/7 without even having to wait if you stopped running, hater.

Well, that can be solved with giving the Goblinball shield a cooldown. Let's say, the shield must place a 2 second Global Cooldown? Making 2 second cooldown to it would prevent its spam, or making Goblinball abilities having their own global cooldowns. You see, the global cooldown is still a cooldown. If you want to prevent the spam of an ability, you can give it a cooldown.

That would require a small rework with spam abilities but the game did a whole rework of classes, even if in some ''aspects'' (Get it? Aspects!) they failed miserably. They can do a small scale rework again with ease.

But Allods is not about Goblinball. Goblinball is fine, but we cannot make Goblinball healthy if that would make all the game unhealthy. Sacrifices must be made.

Wednesday, August 17th 2016, 11:05pm

no need for sacrifices at all, for those who do the programming on the game it would be possible to make CD fitting for GB if thats needed (i dont play this so i dont know) while leaving regular combat system at an heathy amount of sec instead of what we have now
its totally INCREDIBLE how a few milli-seconds can make the gameexperience suffer THIS much

Finally, someone who can speak the same language as I do!

By the way, are you all sure Global Cooldown was 1,5 seconds? I didn't think it was that much.
