Secret Path not working as advertised

Description says it teles you to a spot then does aoe immobilize and dmg there. For me, it's been dropping nature's grip and bee swarm where I start the teleport, not where I land. There does seem to be a grabbing root graphic that I assume is the immobilize, but my dps meter shows only nature grip and bee swarm. Is this normal and do you all feel this skill is really worth the talent points?

actually, from what i've understood from warden class (not my main) this skill is almost useless in assault aspect but usefull in support aspect with some rubis...

what freestile said in assault and heal aspect its rather useless cuz of casttime and missing rubees but in supp aspect its super cool cuz its instant and leaves roots an landing and starting position even if its with 5k mana a big manaeater :D
