Jolly Roger Bay Trouble

Hello All,

I've come across a quest that I have not been able to get past in the Jolly Roger Bay area. When I try to fight Benny Cakeson, he sends out a few mobs named Distort, and the ice spikes seem to follow me and I lose every time. Is there a certain way that I should be fighting him? Is there something that I'm missing?
