Asee Teph 1 hit dead

While going to instance after doing coba. A flagged league attacked me and instatnly killed me due to punishment i was 37 by the time. This and lost a lot of exp from it. Is this how it suppose to work like this.

Well im not the one who carries flag. He attacks me i dont do anything and i got smited. I dont think its right.

with flagged, do you mean pvp ON or carrying a warbanner?

maybe it actually works camping this instances entrance with a level 28 with warbanner?

If he has war banner activated (item dropped from mobs) he can attack you ONLY using his spells, but as you are 10 levels above his spells wouldn't hurt you much so just run along your way.

If you are not flagged for PvP he CAN NOT use holy justice item on you. He can only use HJ on you if you actually flag yourself up for PvP.

So basically what he can do while having war banner is provoke you and hit you with his spells, and check if you will hit him back to flag yourself up. Once you hited him and have flagged he can then use HJ to insta kill you.

Once again, if you are not flagged he can not use HJ on you, he can only attack you with normal spells (if he has banner activated).

I get it but still after I got mad and killed him while i was 36 and didnt died(he was under 30). So how this happened?

I lost the track of what actually happened from your own posts...

Someone below 30 attacked you, you got mad and killed him/her and still got 1-shot after the target had already died? Perhaps another player killed you beyond your view with HJ? Or the lowbie used HJ just before he/she died to your skill?

But it should work as Gothica explained.

Well thats my fault for giving the story in parts. 28 lvl mage with flag attacked me my flag of war was not on. I got smited and dead. This happen again i got smited. I saw they guy he comes and do smae thing again I unmount give him good time. He died and i did not got smited.

I was not attacking. Only the last time i did attack.

A possible bug perhaps... HJ shouldn't work with warbanner, if the higher level target doesn't flag up by attacking back. Have never seen/heard it happen before. Odd.

Maybe AOE-player can confirm, if it works or not as he mentioned he'll try it out...

Entering HTT flags you. Upon exit from the instance, your flag of war WILL be raised. This cannot be stopped. Level 30 and up is susceptible to HJ, but 29 both cannot use HJ and cannot have HJ used on them. Level 28 may be able to use HJ, but that may be the level where they no longer auto-retaliate with HJ when killed by a level 30 and up.

Yes I always assumed 28 is max level for auto retaliate same as it is to be able to use HJ.
But perhaps max auto retaliate level is lower than 28.

level 0 to level 28 (28 included) is autobacklash from HJ on death (even if you teleport away or used old healer bubble you got killed :P)
level 29 can kill level 28 and below without beeing affected by HJ, however can also be killed by level 30 and above without beeing affecte by auto HJ

question of OP has been answered by rozetri who said beeing in TT2 raises flag automatically
i was not aware of this and thought you can enter with pvp off too

But Ginko clearly said his flag was off and he still got killed.

Both entering and leaving Tensess Temple raises your flag, that's common knowledge to anyone as it has been so for ages... But it doesn't flag you until you have entered inside TT... so how did Ginko die outside of it with flag of war off without entering TT first?

Btw all dungeons and most skirmishes raises flag of war automatically when entered and leaves your flags open for 5min after leaving.

I'm not CERTAIN, but I believe there is a quest mob down in the Historian camp just outside HTT that flags you when you attack it. My memory of this is fairly poor, but I think the goblin you have to kill to get the key to then enter HTT is the one in question.

Yep, the Goblin does open flags. At least it did couple months ago. Maybe Ginko just didn't notice that his flag was open, although he said it wasn't.
