Is crafting and being a mentor useful?

I was wondering if I can add details and photos so this thread would be much better.

It's important to have your crafting level on lv75 in order to progress as efficient as possible. It allows you to craft tools that are way better than the green tools from the anvil vendors.
As mentor it's just a system to let new players find their communication paths a lot easier to "experienced" players that can help them out so the newbs wouldn't have to run in circles.
