En l'an 4015 de l'ère ancienne, un grand cataclysme s'est abattu sur Sarnaut. La planète fut ravagée et les allods, les îles des planètes restantes, émergèrent. Seuls les grands mages auraient pu survivre à cette catastrophe, mais c'était sans compter sur le courage de 12 braves hommes - les Grands Martyrs - qui sacrifièrent leur vie afin de protéger le monde.
