Open Letter to My.com: Portuguese-BR Support and Cash in BRL

Dear My.com team and the Allods Online development team,
I, along with a group of Brazilian players with whom I am in constant contact, have been dedicated and engaged in Allods Online for years, but we feel that our community is frequently overlooked. Since 2015, our server was migrated to the European server, and for nearly 10 years we have remained an invisible community in your eyes. We have no Portuguese language support, and we cannot make cash purchases in our local currency (BRL), which places us at a disadvantage and significantly increases our costs.
The absence of Portuguese language support creates a significant linguistic barrier for many players. While many of us have overcome these difficulties over time, it’s undeniable that this remains an obstacle for new players and the return of former ones. Additionally, the inability to make purchases in our currency puts us at a disadvantage, with us paying up to seven times more than players in regions that use the euro. This practice is not only unfair but also overlooks the purchasing power of one of the largest online gaming markets in the world.
The Brazilian gaming market is one of the most vibrant and promising, generating over R$13 billion in revenue in 2022, according to Newzoo. Despite the strength of this market, the lack of specific support for Brazil has driven players away, leading to an exodus from our community. Many give up due to the absence of an environment that meets their language and purchasing needs, which also contributes to a perception of neglect toward Brazilian players.
In 2023, we saw that it was possible to add support for another currency in the game, which reinforces that the same can be done for the Brazilian real. Furthermore, Brazil is one of the largest gaming markets globally, and this lack of support hinders our community’s growth and discourages both new and returning players. We ask that My.com value our presence by investing in Portuguese-BR support and BRL transactions.
We hope to be able to discuss these improvements and move towards a more accessible, fair, and welcoming game for all.
With hope and the expectation of a positive response,
Sincerely,
Pinkk

Atenciosamente,
Pinkk.

Really, I think it's a huge lack of respect with all Portuguese speakers! The bare minimum should be the existence of a translation into Portuguese, be it PT-PT or PT-BR :)

We Brazilian players are abandoned to our fate, I hope may games can help us, our community is large and we need more attention in the game, support for Brazilians and game translation, this is the standard of games these days, even an AI translates the game automatically, We are in 2024!

I agree, Allods had a strong brazilian community back when it had a brazilian server, when merge came, everyone got their languages in the game (the french, the germans), but we got cut from the language support.

And the payement options, there's no localization for us either

Furthermore, it is important to highlight that, according to European Union guidelines, all consumers have the right to equal access to services and products. The lack of support for Portuguese-BR and the impossibility of carrying out transactions in BRL not only harm our community, but also go against the principles of equality and non-discrimination established by European legislation. This situation contradicts the EU's efforts to promote a single market accessible to all citizens, regardless of their location or language.

-------------------------------------------
I have been trying for several days to communicate with my.com support regarding these issues, but their responses have always been generic, showing total disinterest in my requests. I asked for a communication channel with someone responsible for these matters so that we could discuss potential strategies to find a solution or not. However, this was the response I received:
"The support team is the appropriate channel for game-related issues, and we have already provided all the information available.
Thank you for reaching out, and all the best."
This makes it clear that, for my.com, the Brazilian community is not important. It implies that this is a closed matter for them, and they are content to leave the Brazilian community unsupported. This only further highlights the unequal treatment that Brazilians receive.
