It seems that My.com's strategy is to discourage old players from coming back as much as possible. It's been over 2 weeks and I am simply fed up. I guess I'll have to take my ball and go elsewhere. It's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to rejoining this community.

I'm sorry it gives you that impression, it is certainly not the case, we are more then happy to welcome old players back into the fold.
Just a very complex procedure, with quite high security requirements (after all, would you be happy if your account was given to someone because they gave a character name and that's it..) performed by a relatively small team.
While I do agree that transfer tickets should be important, it is dangerous to do them at the expense of all of the other tickets.
