Looking for research participants!

Hello,

How does playing MMORPGs influence you, or affect your mood, characteristics or traits? Do other people come into it? Are you affected more by your own behaviour (successes or mistakes), or is MMORPG just a pastime that can't influence you at all?

Why do you ask, I hear you say?

My name is George - I am a psychology student looking for participants for my bachelor's thesis research into MMORPG players' thinking that is done through Allods Online.

I am looking for people who are:
  • Able to play Allods Online daily for at least 30 minutes.
  • Able to understand English and fill out really short questionnaires.
  • Able to do so for seven days.
  • Willing to play Goblinball, regardless of their skill or fondness of it.
Because I know that what I ask for might seem difficult, here's what I offer to participants:
  • You will have access to your data after the research is done.
  • You will be provided access to the completed thesis (in Czech with an English abstract), when it's done.
  • You will be given 200 crystals as a reward for filling in the required number of questionnaires over the course of the research.
  • You might feel good for helping a researcher in need :)
If any of that interests you at all, please hop on to http://allodsresearch.weebly.com/registration.html, where you can apply for participation. The research is anonymous, though I will need several of your characteristics to complement the data (age, gender and nationality) and your email address to contact you. Please consider applying!

However, even if you don't want to join the research, I would be very much interested in your thoughts on the topic!

Side-Note:

Participating in unofficial events should be done at players own discretion and is entirely between you and the OP/organizers.

We're more than happy to facilitate threads that benefit science and research and/or reward players for helping others out, and we ask that those who wish to do so get in touch with the respective CM to organize such threads first. However, using such events as a means to cause abuse on either end of the scale will not be entertained.

Best of luck with the research OP, and an e-pat on the back for those who help the OP out with their thesis.
