I think it would be great if they would accept some volunteers to help translate. People who know the game well and who have a good grip on Russian and English (or French/German). I myself would absolutely love to contribute to the translations in any way. I see many errors and I know how they should be fixed, or what would sound better in English. And from my experience of working on the Allods Oracle website, I have many resources that could help these players in translating things correctly.
Surely it wouldn't be too difficult to set up a small group of volunteer player translators to go through and fix things and help where things are missing?

Or just overwrite this with the ex-NA translation. That was STELLAR. Nobody knows why they used the EU over NA. :(((((

Hi guys,

If you have spotted any errors with the translation feel free to report it (with a screenshot) here:
http://en.allods.com/forum/index.php?page=Board&boardID=22

We can then forward it to the Loca department to fix :)

Yes, I heard the NA localisation was far superior, however I remember a GM saying in the past that they were keeping the EU localisation to maintain consistency, as the NA localisation had stopped and it would've become strange in later patches :(

The mistakes are far too many to just list one by one. You guys need to hire a person or two, whose job would be to just browse through the translation and fix everything. There is a quest to collect berries in one of the new islands, and the item is called [Oreshek fortress]. :((((

I laughed so unbelievably hard when I first saw this.
I don't read quests, but I do look at the top right of my screen to see what I have to collect/where I have to move to.
When I saw Oreshek Fortress [0/80] I got real damn nervous thinking I had to do the instance 80 times.
Then I laughed...really hard at the lack of interest the translator took in doing for this game.

Does this count all the#placeholders# and "123" quest descriptions? (oh nezeb how I was dissapointed everytime I bumped into them)

Because I have printscreened all Umoir quests and some of them are still broken like this, should I share?

It's because the quest is actually to collect nuts. And in russian oreshek fortress is just called орешек (that means nut). It looks like that text is stored in the same place for Oreshek Fortress and that quest.

Guess the developers wanted to minimize data duplication not thinking about the game actually being played in different languages.

Actually, now. There is a folder for each quest, that contains a bunch of txt files with the actual text. The translators receive a huge zip with these files, and translated each one. Problem is that this is tiring, and sometimes, whitout proper context, they will translate it wrong.
Probably there was a file containing орешек, and the translator thought it meant Oreshek Fortress, and translated it that way.

As for the placeholders.. they're way too many. I managed to find some of them, and I could translate and post a list of them, so that those curious can see what each placeholder means, but it would take a lot of time and repetitive work, and in the end, the game will be updated and fixed, and all that work would've been in vain.

And, before I forget. On NA we had an awesome GM that did the translations, and she did an awesome job at it. But she had to leave, and at that point we started using the EU localization (that was before 4.0 if I recall).

Considering the amount of localisation errors, it would probably be better to get the loc team to review everything again. However, if anyone has SS of these, then I would send them to support.

Cheers!

I am not talking about errors, errors can be fixed. I was trying to say how quests are poorly written. Poor grammar.
If I managed to notice it while english is not my native language then its really bad.

Many times i see objects/items/tools named # Placeholder #. I don't know what that is, but looks to me like something that was not translated from Russian to English where the EU systems don't recognize the text?

The english translation is EU english, british or whatever. Both,EU and NA translation, are made by gpotato Dublin. Idk why its so different.

Btw: if you see some #placeholder just make Screenshots and post it in the "wrong translation" forum. Without screenshoth they cant fix the #placeholder.
