thing's that need to be done in allods online

hello alloders
i wanted to make this thread for a long time and now its time
after skyforge went live i started playing and i did like it even more that allods and that's for:
1-graphics are just wonderfull
2-game play is just smooth and slide
3- voice acting
4-not pay2win

but why allods looks so old ? can it be saved from the hand of time? what should be done here?

there is a couple of things that could make allods live longer
1- add cinematics and give it alot of voice acting because no one have the time to read all of that
2-add dynamic shadows .i mean that ugly dark thing under the players and npc are not good at all
3-not going to say remove the pay to win things but al the very least stop making it /new players would like to get a free wolf from the start and a full set of lvl 2 ruins to help them /in every RSBox give away 5 box's for every player so he can feel how free the game is and keep playing

4-just emprove the graphics a littel bit
5-make bigger maps

this can help getting new players for the game
but this does not hide the truth that we need a new client for the game maybe in the next 3 years we would have a new one
thanks for reading

skyforge may be a good game, but its not a good comparison to allods

btw where is allods gameplay not "smooth and slide" except on slow office- computers?

aand graphics already look GREAT if you disable the weird "sharpness" effect (that ruins the whole picture)

1. I disagree with cinemas - I hate games with lots of cinemas - specially, if you can't skip them after seeing them once. I'm more interested in playing the game instead watching scenes of a coming quest/fights/locations and re-watch them, if you can't skip and die before the quest is over. Although, I wouldn't mind having some cinemas revealing the lore deeper as if flash-backs from history of Allods told by some storytellers etc. I don't mind reading the quests - it's slower but if you are interested in lore, you should bother as much as to read.

2. Agree with the shadows but then again, more dynamic shadows might make this game even more laggy for most players (including me).

3. P2w is so deeply part of Allods, you can't remove it anymore because that's the way to game earns its money. The p2p server would become hideously expensive, if f2p server would stop being p2w as most cash shoppers wouldn't spend anymore. I doubt majority of those cash shoppers that have very high runes, extra rubies, stats points, pat5 etc would just buy vanity in equal amounts. The game dies when the developers can't earn big enough income from it - they just shut it down after that. I don't want to see Allods closing in many more years to come. It's the paradox of Allods - new players suffer and quit because of it and without it many old players that are the heavy cash shoppers quit as they can't get what they paid for. So the only reasonable solution for this problem is the p2p server - new players should really consider it. People just have to learn that nothing is free - either you pay monthly or you face the unbalance of f2p server where you can play for free in theory but it will be a pain.

4. I like the graphigs as they are - so different from most games - and very beautiful.

5. Somewhat agree with bigger maps... Although there are couple big ones like Coba and Kirah, most maps are small for 1 or 2 levels. I can understand that perfectly as it is Allods = isles. But either there should be more smaller ones or more bigger maps in future to give better pve content. It's disappointing to get new pve content that you can play through within 6 hours. Then you have to wait another half a year or a year for more.

i agree with cinematics and voice acting, I feel like while i'm doing quests i barely know what is hapenning, and I just can't read paragraphs for every single quest every single time, voice acting and such to explain would be great, it's so frustrating enter in raids like GT to defeat Sarn and all we got is a box with text above sarn with his exclamations, with nothing else.

i like graphics like they are too, it's already above many games (such as WoW) and I yes i would like graphics like skyforge but to make that happen it would need a whole new game, "Allods 2".

Why people Always feel the need to have "bigger maps" as an argument of making the game experience better? what's the logic behind this? NONE. I don't want bigger maps so I have to walk like crazy just to do a couple of quests, plus the lack of diversity that bigger maps will cause, maps are already very efficient, the size is already very efficient to not ruin the game experience, allods REALLY doesn't needs bigger maps at all.

f2p is already ruined with p2w, the only solution is to remove p2w aspects but u know when they will going to do this? never, because they can't just refund people that spend thousands of dollars on lvl13 runes, patronage rank 5, extra stat points etc. The only solution is to move to subscription server.

i think to make shadows better as skyforge you have to make a whole new game with a new engine.

i think this will be unpopular opinion, but:
i have many ideas to make allods better, ideas that came from skyforge too, for example, i would like to have a skill bar such as Skyforge without shortcuts that goes from "0" to "=", "alt 0" to "="/"ctrl 0" to "=" etc, but of course all the classes should be remade to fit the new skill bar, plus soft-targeting as skyforge would be cool, to make the game somewhat more "action" (skyforge is not action combat such as tera, it's soft-targeting, i think allods could make that happen). plus, i would like the remake of classes, we could chose one of three specialization, for example, mage: chose between lightning, fire or ice specialized (i'm not very into dual-elements with everything mixed on the talent tree, i would love to see a full lightining mage with skyforge skill bar, with only lightning spells, with stuns, because lightning stuns, ice mage that is more focused on hold and freez, and fire with DoT and "fear"), or psionicist: astral, control or "illusion"(that i made that up, somehow related to twins/phantasmal killer), forget pyro 'cause pyro doesn't remember a psychic class at all, there's a lot of psychic skills that could have done besides pyro, just be creative or look in some others games that has psychic class, such as champions online, wildstar, GW2, etc.

i think on overall allods skills could be more creative, i was so disappointed with the lack of imagination when they remade the mage class for example, while guild wars 2 was releasing and skills were looking amazing, with fiery Phoenix and such things, skyforge skills are awesome, allods should follow that, i mean, when i think of a mage i think of amazing spells, that ice snowball from skyforge is amazing, i don't think about ice arrow/ice comet when i think of a mage. And psionicist skills.....damn, with the exception of some (like, tk pull, pulse), they are very unimaginative compared to psychic class from other games

i have played SF in the first closed Beta, i dont like the graphic and i dont like the cinematics in it, also the fighting system is not the way i like to play.

i think the graphic in allods looks realy nice. not so comic style like a big payment game (you guys and girls knows what i mean :D ).

also is the concept of allods realy interesting, to push you to the max level and then enter some isles to get your equip, its not that stupid and boring raiding like other games.

im with Gwiniel about the shadows, that brings most of the players more lags more DC´s and with that a AOD is for most of the players then not realy possible.

and for the p2w system we have in germany a good proverb: nothing is free not even death because of the cost of living! :pinch:
so players how want to cash holding this game alieve, who not want to cash so much can play on the p2p server thats cheaper then the f2p server.

so thats what i think about this lovely game where i spend now over 3 years and enjoy every day i come online

greetings

I never understood the argument that Allods has "bad graphics".

Have you ever stood on the hills of the Wild Isles and looked out into the astral as the music played, the soft twilight reflecting off the loose blades of grass blowing in the wind as a nearby astral ship passes by? It's downright breath-taking and I don't even care for graphics in a game. I got my start on MS-DOS so graphics are a take-it-or-leave-it icing on the cake.

Have you ever looked out into the air astral or fire astral, or zoomed in on another ship to watch the other crew busily working their cannons and running their goblins? Have you zoomed in on the astral demons? Have you alt-z'd the interface and looked at some of the monsters in game?

Where does all this "bad graphics" talk come from? The Allods scenery is amazing. I used to run into WoW players that would tour the world simply to take in the sights. I was always like "pfft, what a waste of time". Then I played Allods and understood how artistic an MMO landscape can really be.

Even the desert areas are incredibly well put together. Every other game that has a desert or barren zone just slaps a plain dirt landscape with some bushes or ruins down and says "wha-la!"

Allods has amazing graphics, especially for its art style.

new games as skyforge are much more photorealistic but i think it's too realistic for me^^ (i can't enter in my "little buble out of real life" properly, if you see what i mean ;) ) personnaly i think that allods graphics are perfect as they are; imo art style is much more important than better graphisms, and allods is really good regarding this (also the russian inspiration helps to make this game very different )
