Well that's strange. I read the thread on Russian forums and apparently the Steam version requires completely new account and is not connected to the non-Steam version in any way. That is no cross-server battlegrounds or Astral.

People even asked if they can log into their old accounts with Steam or if that's planned for the future here:

https://allods.mail.ru/forums/showthread…l=1#post6908424

What the community manager answered was pretty much "Very unlikely."

I find it hard to believe it's going to be different in EU/NA and I really wonder who the f*** do they intend this Steam version for. Allods is very well known in Russia and everyone interested in playing is already playing. Old players won't leave their characters and there's no international version.

Sounds like a huge cash-grabbing scheme.

Well, fail.

It was a nice little something to hope for, but they have messed up real bad. It's pointless to make EU/NA Steam servers as well, so they won't even have to bother.

So far it seems yes. Only thing they've complained about is this collectors edition you can see on Steam. In any other pricing category than CIS it costs about 95 euros, so it's kinda terrible for Russians living elsewhere that want to play on the steam server (CIS price of the package is about 5 times cheaper).

Allods Steam

Hello all!

I've quite from Allods, basically, because of 2 things: P2W on "free" server and low population on P2P (which i consider the free one... but that's just my opinion).
But, since the game is still good, i still come around once every month to check things out. (another great reason was my PC was old but now i have new one to play every best game out there with 60+ fps so I'm discovering a whole new "world" :P)

About the subject of the thread, i think is very simple...
My.Com, just proved what they intended since the beginning: They wanted to supply Skyforge thinking it would raise their numbers as an AAA game but, the game only reached a small c grade.
To supply it, the catch was to continuously supply Allods to it's players. They don't care about this game, they've proved it (just go to My.Com games menu and try to find Allods...), and it's a waste of time thinking they will ever do anything about this.

About what i was reading of Dala and Kurt might just prove what i think (and heard...) about the only solution to this game:

1st - They keep both servers with the My.Com version (or anyone else after Steam official release)
2nd - The Steam version will be a "new game" with no old players. Why, simple: Old players or invested thousands of euros or millions of hours to get what they have and, to be on the new server, they would continue with what they always done that ruined the game. They realized the is no option but to start all over now...

So, this is the simple strategy:

- Skyforge is a fail
- Allods is their last attempt to not close doors because Skyforge run dry their money
- Allods is completely dead... It's only known for a extremely P2W game and MMO players community, simply don't want that. (Just see active players and compare it to other games... it's to die laughing).
- They can't simply shutdown accounts or that would be their end over internet flaming. So, if you want your char, keep it, if want the Steam Version, which will be their supplying source, you'll start a new one.

Now, the catch, the Steam Version, will have many differences. There will be advantages to who pay, but there will still be a free version with low options but, playable. They now know this, even that is too late, but it will be like this. Check Wildstar, Lord of the Rings, Perfect World, etc... they went from subs to F2P because it's where all games can go to survive... Only AAA (WoW, GW2 and ESO) can have ppl buying to play... face it!

Those wallet fulled players, already have all mounts and maxed runes so, what will they they buy monthly? Potions? The new free players will buy the ark to get 5s and then go free either because they like the game or just because spending years or thousands of euros isn't an option...

So, fellas, if i were a mean guy, i would say: are you ready for the "new (Steam) Allods Game"? or will keep you old Allods by My.Com (or any other, not worse, because it can't be worse...)?

So, I'm leaving you now, with the doubts on your heads thinking: is he right? Can't be... i hope....

As for me, I'm waiting for this P2P/F2P mixed version on Steam since, for me, it's really the last hope....

There won't be any "mixed" version, because it has not been designed and implemented on RU and after they bailed on demilitarized combat mounts at one point in time, they haven't developed anything exclusively for non-Russian version ever since.

Only real options are:
  • unchanged fp2 on a new server (just like RU)
  • f2p with lowered prices on a new server
  • p2p on a new server
  • both servers moved over in their current state

If it's anything else, I'll have serious problems picking up my jaw from the ground.

I don't think you realize what those "wallet fulled players" buy...
We buy strongboxes.
There is a plain and simple reason why.
We like gambling and strongboxes are gambling.
We buy them in hopes of getting the top prize to sell to someone else for more than we invested in the strongboxes.
A LOT of the time that does not happen.
And 95% of the time, the "wallet fulled players" already have this item and are literally just buying boxes to "gamble."
So......my.com gets a lot of money from these "wallet fulled players."
Much more than potions, as you assume.

You should save words because it's no news that your a spender... But it's your money and i'm happy that in a world full of crap there's ppl with plenty to toss...

As for me, with much money or not, i'm a fan of good games with MMO players not "gamblers"... I don't like poker that much, sry...

"Occupation: Destoryer of all things you love" Your occupation says a lot... Like you, many "gamble" with the robbery of CS and this game is what is. What makes happy, and i truly hope so, if the Steam version is a whole "new" game or even mixed server (susb and F2P), any of them, the game will get players like you not completely away but, in way much smaller that this crap got to be.

Happy spendings mate...

I'm not sure I understand basically anything you said.
However, my "occupation" I put on there was a play on Robert Oppenheimer's famous quote: "Now, I am become Death, the Destroyer of worlds."

but the bank always win... isnt this obvious here?
this can only work one way: you try your luck 1 time, you are lucky (and even this is incredibly unlikely)
if not, dont try again, you wont be lucky a 2nd time
and even if you are lucky dont try again, you wont be lucky a 2nd time :pinch:

I'm guessing you've never been to a casino. :)
It's a "high" to some people.

i was one time (some friends wished i would accompany them, would not have done that alone), won about 100€ after i put in 10€, was happy and then stopped because i feared i might lose that 100€ again
some of my friends won more than me but ironcally lost that after some time and in the end they had less than before (when i told them to better stop they were like "nah, i feel lucky, i will win for sure")
it was a good lesson, their high was only for a very short time :S

You're not wrong.
Most of the time you won't win over and over again.
Most of the time you win a reasonable amount and then lose it very shortly after.
However, for some people, that "high" of winning is worth losing it again.
With that being said, congrats on your win. :P

So, any information about when the release is expected? I remember reading somewhere that there were plans to delay it after 7.0 was live, so now that it is, is there any new information or release date? I'm waiting for it because steam has a lot more payment options that I use, since no credit card is available(Those mfs are expensive), that let me pay with cash directly(Since I think there's no option available for it).
