2015-2016: How do you get the snake?

The NPCs are all dressed up in the current holiday items, I guess to show you what they look like before you buy them or whatever, and one of them is wearing a snake on her back. It's not for sale in the holiday shop but the lady says you can trade in "Wise Snake" for cards. The way it's written is it has all the outfit items from the goat box and all the outfit items from the normal gift box, and then separately, the Eye of Frost which is the rare item for the gift box and then the Wise Snake, which I assumed to be the corresponding rare item for the goat box. It's the only thing on the holiday item list I haven't gotten. I spent 4 hours getting 100 of the New Year Goat boxes or whatever they are and still didn't get it. It is extremely rare, or is there some mistake here? When I tried to Google it I'm only getting results for it being a holiday item back in 2012 (which says you can buy it for 1200 cards and it isn't in the shop for any price this year). If so then why is it on the holiday NPC and why do they offer to trade you cards for it along with all the other current items?

If it's just really rare I'll keep trying, but if it's just flat not there then I'll quit. My hand is hurting from all those thousands of candy canes. =/ I don't mind trying if it's definitely in there and just rare, but I don't like spending all this time when I don't even know if it's actually there or just a mistake in the event.

i think you can't get it anymore, it was a costume from a previous year event, i'm not sure 100% thought, but i've opened a lot of presents too and get nothing...
Also i was wondering if we could get the trinket that used to drop last year (the one which increase your normal speed by 5%) cause i'd like to get one for my impe char but even with hundreds of presents i disn't get it ;(

You are talking about Wise Snake back vanity and it is from year 2012. You can only get it drop from the gifts of that year. Large New Year gifts extremely rarely sold in AH anymore. I wasn't lucky enough to get it but my roomie got it half a year ago when those gifts were available from AH. No other way of getting it. The previous from that was the purple Drake from 2011.

Winter Costumes - check this link and you'll see it.

Edit: After fully reading your post... I'm not 100% sure have they added it to this years goat gifts also. But it's extremely rare. It may drop from couple gifts or you may have to open hundreds.

Edit 2: Have opened close to 300 goat boxes (purple ones), nada - just cards. Either very bad luck or for the time being not "on the menu".

I sure hope so, would be nice to have a new chance to get "collectible" vanity missed in past years. Btw, does anyone know the New Year Event's special vanity from years 2013 and 2014? I was having a long break during 2014 event but can't even recall 2013 either. Even the dragon masks are from 2012.
