There is an item in the Cash Shop that you need to purchase called:
Permit of the Master Artisan.
If you want an additional one beyond that, you need to purchase the one called:
Permit of the Exceptional Artisan
If you go this route instead of CS'n it, you will be lvl 50 when it will actually open for you. There is a cap on how many professions you can have. You start with one, it can be increased up to 3.

This one is pretty much a noob trap. For a new player it would be infinitely faster to get the crafters reputation (especially with blacksmithing) than enough crystals for this item.

Wow, did you not really read what I put? All I said was that he/she will be lvl 50 BEFORE getting the second profession if they choose not to do the cs route. Was just letting the OP know what they were in for and not to expect it before. If you go this route instead of CS'n it, you will be lvl 50 when it will actually open for you.
Let's look at the other route:
Current gold exchange rate is 347:1 when buying. The permit is 500 crystals. It's 173500 gold to get it.
I'd say there's no way he can get this much at level 50, maybe near 65 if he uses all his savings towards it (which isn't a good idea btw)

Has it changed? Years ago you could buy it and instantly get it working.. no level boundaries whatsoever.. or do I remember it wrong?CS and get the second profession at 65

Yes, in reality you could buy it right when you start leveling up your professions just as you could the 3rd one. What Dala is saying is that if you use gold to get the 2nd profession you wont have the gold till 65.Has it changed?
