Heroes of Sarnaut!

Previously we've announced that some classes will get significant changes, including the Summoner. Now we are ready to share the details!

Before we started working on it, we analyzed the current state of the Summoner, processed feedback from players, and identified issues that make the class less relevant.

  • One of the most "sensitive" points, we believe, is that the Summoner is chosen less often than other support classes. Among other things, the relevance of this class is affected by minions, which are quite weak at the current state. It is also worth mentioning the Supremacy characteristic, which is quite difficult to maintain without any loss to the player.

Based on the information we received, we decided to make the following changes to the class:

  • Diversified the rotation and added new skills and rubies.

    — The class will have a new "Touch of Death" skill, which allows you to use a ranged attack on one target. This skill affected the work of some rubies, so these rubies changed the operating principles or were completely reworked.

  • The Summoner will have the ability to cast "Blood Aegis" either on himself or allies, and with the help of the "Thrill of Pain" ruby, the Summoner will be able to inflict less damage on himself with the "Blood Feast" skill.
  • The "Ritual of Pain" skill will be removed and "Ritual of Plague" will become an area-of-effect skill.
  • Some rubies now deal more damage and apply different effects.
  • Each Summoner's minion will receive unique skills that will help the owner deal with enemies and rescue allies more effectively.
  • Pets will have additional passive abilities to help in battle

    — For example, the Cadaver will increase all Disease damage, and the Hellion will periodically cast a barrier on the Summoner during combat. As part of the rework, both Cadaver and Hellion have had their survivability increased.

  • It will no longer be so easy to disrupt the work of Supremacy, thanks to a temporary bonus that can be obtained with the correct use of abilities and at a certain distance from allies.
  • The functionality of the ultimate "Dark Palm" skill has been improved: movement speed will no longer be reduced, and the benefit of the skill will be increased in all three aspects.

    — For example, when using the "Dark Palm" in the Aspect of Support, it will be possible not only to deal some damage, but also to immobilize the enemy.

Some changes have also affected the work of the class in the Aspect of Healing:

  • We have updated some skills (the "Reanimation" in particular), to increase the popularity of this skill among players.
  • The number of levels of the "Blood Pact" effect has been reduced to 50, but the amount of healing per level has been slightly increased. The effect levels can be obtained even outside of combat.
  • Thanks to the reworked "Flow of Life" ruby, the "Blood Feast" skill will be able to heal allies, but will lose the ability to deal any damage.
  • The "Power over Flesh" ruby will remove the preparation time of the "Healing Injection" skill and increase the amount of healing from it.

Our plan was to make the Summoner a more versatile support player, and here are the changes that were made to achieve the goal:

  • We've added new rubies for applying such effects as "Bloodlust" and "Courage" to allies.
  • The "Aegis of Darkness" skill no longer reduces damage when the Aspect of Support is active and players will be able to summon their pet once without spending any drops of blood.
  • The "Step through the Shadows" ruby now gives the opportunity to apply the "Defence" effect to the entire group when the Aspect of Support is active.

These are not all the changes that will happen to the Summoner in the nearest future and will allow you to take a new look at this class!
